a year agoFirst off, the entire Zoo is phenomenal. With the focus of the Penguin & Puffin area, it is a blast! We went on a Saturday in early February. The zoo was busy, but not crazy. There was a line, as usual, but it was it's always a short wait. While outside, there is a landscaped pool where Penguins are playing & fun to watch. Inside, you walk through a cave, into a fridgid experience where the Penguins are playing. There is an above level glass where you can watch the Penguins swim. Above, the Penguins are squaking, flapping wings and hanging out. The ceiling simulates an arctic sky which is cool.. literally! The exhibit exits to a landscaped walkway into the a Puffin & Penguin themed gift shop. The shop is cool & fun family browsing. Definitely check this out while at the zoo!

2 years agoThe penguins are so cute. Loved watching them. I went on a sunny day with my family. The penguins were enjoying the sun 🌞😎 so did we. Inside the penguin house no eatable or drinks allowed. So make sure you keep your food items inside your bag while visiting inside the penguin house. There are lots of cafeterias, ice cream and juice counters around the place. One can have a great time here. You will need one entire day to finish watching the zoo. Parents bring strollers for kids. Kids are going to have a lot of fun watching the animals.

2 years agoThe Penguin House is phenomenal! You can get so close to these beautiful creatures. Watching them waddle and swim around is just so pleasing. It is very cold inside so be prepared, but I assure you it is absolutely worth it! Please do not touch the penguins.

3 years agoI don't think the folks who visit the St. Louis Zoo realize how lucky they are to be able to see penguins and puffins up close. I never thought I would get to see them up close but now I have. You can get within inches of the penguins and puffins (of course you cannot touch them). They are so adorable and inquisitive. One stared at me right in the face. The children visiting were just mesmerized by these amazing birds. The was the best exhibit in the zoo.

3 years agoProbably my favorite exhibit. I took some pictures and lots of videos. It was over 90 degrees but inside this exhibit felt like 50 degrees. Cold and felt so good. The penguin were so playful and showing off. The kids and adults loved this.
