I was up at the Mansion this past weekend on the 22nd of April and it was chilly around 8am but free of lots of people with just a handful of viewers. - The peeked through the clouds giving a wonderful array of light down on the city as if it was Blessing the City :) - The interior was closed, due to construction, however the grounds were nice to see and I managed to take numerous pictures of the grounds and the City below. - There were Zero Homeless camps near the Mansion on the SW side not sure about the East side of the Mansion. - A nice walk is coming up from Hoyt Arboretum then it is downhill on the return. Thank you to all who make this possible for us viewing the wonderful Mansion and grounds.

Cool place. You can walk the grounds no charge and the view is exceptional so definitely do that, but it’s also worth a few bucks to tour inside, especially if you’re interested in history. I found it entertaining and educational however I AM a 52 year old woman not raised on video games & instant gratification so…

Loved our visit to the mansion. We only enjoyed the grounds. We did not tour the interior of the mansion, but it looked stunning with the glimpses we caught walking by. The grounds were gorgeous and free. You do have to pay to park, and parking is somewhat limited. Again, the grounds are beautiful and the view of downtown and Mt. Hood are stunning on a clear day! Well worth the time to visit!!

Well worth the price of admission. The grounds and mansion are absolutely beautiful and very well kept up with lots of things to see. Very interesting seeing and hearing the history of Portland’s early days, and the best view of the city and Mt Hood that you can get. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

This was my third visit to this place, and I’ve also explored the facilities inside before—though it seems I was mostly focused on posting on Instagram at the time. This spot is comparable to places like Griffith Park in LA, Twin Peaks in SF, or Kerry Park in Seattle. It’s the home of Henry Pittock, one of Portland’s early settlers and the publisher of Oregon’s renowned newspaper, *The Oregonian*. Built in 1914, it feels like a high-tech masterpiece of its time. The Pittock family lived here until 1958. Afterward, the mansion changed hands multiple times and even faced the threat of demolition. However, local citizens raised funds to purchase it, restoring it to its original glory and opening it to visitors. It’s truly an impressive place. Next time, I’m planning to run the trail courses with my dogs!
