Detailed Insights

Playground at Linden & Ducatel offers a diverse outdoor play experience, catering to both younger children with traditional playground equipment (slides, swings) and older kids with a basketball court. Parents appreciate the availability of benches and the overall fun factor for children. However, visitors must be prepared for cleanliness issues, a specific ground hazard, and potential encounters with illicit activities.

Key Highlights

  • Main playground equipment is in fairly good shape.
  • Features a tall slide that kids can get 'good speed' on.
  • Accommodates a wide range of ages, from 3-4 year olds on the playground to 12 year olds using the basketball court.
  • Plenty of benches are available for parents to sit and observe.
  • Neighborhood is perceived as more peaceful and in better condition compared to 10-15 years ago.
  • Kids generally have a lot of fun on the swing set and slide.
  • Provides activities that keep both younger and older siblings engaged simultaneously.

Standout Features

  • Tallest slide designed for speed.
  • Dedicated basketball court.
  • Swing set (specifically located 'up on Linden').
  • Abundant benches for parent seating.

Perfect For

Toddlers & Young Children (3-4 years old): Suitable for general play on the park equipment, including swings and slides.
Pre-teens/Older Children (12 years old): Engaged by the basketball court, providing a distinct activity option.
Mixed Age Groups: Ideal for families with a wide age range of children, as activities cater to different interests.

Ideal For

Families with multiple children of varying ages (e.g., toddler and pre-teen).
Parents seeking a free outdoor venue with diverse play options.
Quick play sessions where basic playground equipment and a basketball court are sufficient.
Outings where parents want to sit and supervise from a bench.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • **Supervise actively:** Pay close attention to children, especially near the fake rock with the ground washout to prevent falls.
  • **Be aware of surroundings:** Due to reported drug activity, maintain vigilance, especially if staying for extended periods.
  • **Manage expectations on cleanliness:** Be prepared for potential litter around the playground area.
  • **Utilize for mixed-age families:** Great for outings with both younger and older children who have different interests.

Things to Consider

  • Significant amount of trash reported 'around' the playground.
  • A 'big spot' near the base of a fake rock has ground washout, creating a fall hazard.
  • Reported instances of 'drug activity' occurring on-site during visits.

Price & Value

This appears to be a free public playground. The value comes from providing diverse play equipment and a basketball court at no cost, which is high given the offerings for different age groups, despite the associated concerns.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations mentioned.
  • The reported ground washout near the fake rock could pose a challenge for individuals with mobility impairments.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Not mentioned in reviews, but typically outdoor public parks allow outside food and drinks.

🚗Parking Info

  • Not explicitly mentioned in reviews, likely street parking or neighborhood parking is available.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Not explicitly detailed, but one review mentions the neighborhood is 'more peaceful' which might suggest a moderate crowd level rather than consistently overwhelming.

🛡️Safety Features

  • **Positive:** Playground equipment is described as being in 'fairly good shape'.
  • **Negative:** Significant ground washout posing a fall hazard near the fake rock.
  • **Negative:** Reported instances of drug activity, raising concerns about overall environment safety.

When to Avoid

  • If strict cleanliness is a top priority.
  • If you are unwilling to tolerate potential exposure to illicit activities.
  • If close, constant supervision of running children is not possible, particularly near the ground washout hazard.
  • If seeking an exclusively toddler-focused or pristine play environment.

The equipment at this playground is in fairly good shape and kids can really get some speed coming down the tallest slide but it's got a lot of trash around it and there's a big spot near the base of the fake rock where the ground has washed out under the surface. There's a good chance running past there will cause a fall.

Had a 4 year old and a 12 year old with me. 2 boys. I like the playground because the 4 year old could play on the park and the 12 year old could play basketball. While they had plenty of benches for me.

The neighborhood seems to be more peaceful and in a better condition in comparison to about 10 or 15 years ago and I'm okay with taking my 3 year old to play there sometimes
