a week agoWhat kind of company intensely interrogates customers trying to return something? Never felt more uncomfortable at a store. Been a member for over 5 years, but I will find a different outfitter for backpacking supplies.

2 months agoJust bought my first backpacking backpack and the customer service was fantastic! Justin was super helpful and friendly, and very understanding to the fact that I had NO clue what I was looking for! We tried on 3 backpacks to find me the perfect fit, and he really took his time making sure that everything was comfortable! Thanks for your help, Justin! Off to the woods I go!

3 weeks agoAmy at the front register gave us the worst customer service I've ever had in a retail establishment and I've shopped at Walmart before. Snappy, standoffish, rude and didn't explain that we were buying a $30 gift card on top of the purchase as a form of membership. You would think they would at least be nice to you after spending $150 in their store.

2 months agoObnoxiously aggressive membership pitching. REI is pricey but i like how knowledgeable the staff can be, not today. I was trapped. Cornered. Made to listen to Mark’s TED talk espousing the moral virtues of REI. For far longer than was kind or comfortable - he carried on with an almost theatrical inflection, never once allowing me to speak or excuse myself (because I already have a membership). Their lives may actually depend on your 30$ - wait but they give you a 30$ coupon to cover your new membership so why are they doing this? Ruined my experience. Felt threatened. Consider shopping online.

5 months agoWorkers are very friendly, a bit expensive but has a great variety that is hard to find elsewhere. Bought a North Face jacket on discount. The membership bonus card was a nice benefit of signing up for a membership, which basically became free ($30 but a $30 bonus card is rewarded). The location is also convenient as it is in a large shopping area.
