a year agoSad situation. This space has abundant wildlife, trees and open spaces, and connects the Marian University Ecolab to the White River. A wonderful opportunity for an Urban Ecosystem, with foxes, deer, hawks, eagles. Instead, the City of Indianapolis is paving a 500-car parking lot, cutting down trees, tearing the place up. Feels like the OPPOSITE of what people asked for in the survey: to preserve this natural area, and to give us bathrooms. Those were the top 2 requests from the public survey. Plus, the city started with miles of good quality, paved golf cart paths for people to do outdoor exercise inexpensively and conveniently. It’s now being torn up.

a year agoMy favorite park in Indianapolis. It has this wonderful mix of wild, unkept nature and organized design. Overall I found the park to be extremely relaxing, as It felt far away from the city. There were nice paths that use to connect the golf greens. However, now they lead through dense meadows, filled with plants and wildlife. On top of that, they have this race track thing that is really fun to ride a bike down.

a year agoFeels like it is presently in a state of decay. A lot of the benches are broken around the trails around the north east part. I like the little signs giving historical information
