💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Consider bringing a sleeping pad or extra bedding if personal mattress comfort is a high priority for your camper.
  • For longer stays or if your child typically gets bored easily, inquire about the camp's specific activity schedule and variety to ensure continuous engagement.
  • Communicate any specific dietary needs, such as vegetarianism, to the staff as they have proven capable of accommodating them.
  • If specific cabin features like common areas or updated facilities are desired, confirm the assigned cabin type for your camper.

Things to Consider

  • Some mattresses are reported as not being the longest or softest, which may impact comfort for some campers.
  • One reviewer found it could be 'boring after 5 hours,' suggesting that while staff are amazing, the activity variety or pace might not suit all children for extended periods.
  • Food quality is generally 'good' but was described as merely 'ok' by one reviewer, indicating potential for variability or average taste for some palates.

Price & Value

No specific pricing is mentioned in the reviews. However, the consistent praise for well-maintained facilities, the high quality of staff care, and overall cleanliness over several decades strongly suggest a good perceived value for the camping experience provided.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accommodations for special needs are mentioned in the provided reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Outside food policy is not mentioned. However, the camp features a 'fabulous dining center' with generally 'good food' and confirmed vegetarian options available at every meal.

🚗Parking Info

  • Not explicitly mentioned, but the description 'in the middle of nowhere' implies ample on-site parking availability, away from urban parking challenges.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Not specifically mentioned, but the capacity to host 'groups' and 'family reunions' suggests it can accommodate a significant number of people without necessarily feeling overly crowded, possibly due to its secluded location and expansive facilities.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Staff are highly praised for taking 'such good care of our camper,' implying attentive supervision and a secure environment. However, no specific safety features such as first aid stations, security personnel, or tracking systems are explicitly mentioned.

When to Avoid

  • Families or campers who require luxurious or hotel-level sleeping accommodations, as some mattresses may be less comfortable.
  • Children who demand constant, high-energy stimulation or quickly get bored if activities aren't continuously varied over longer periods (e.g., beyond 5 hours).
  • Those looking for a highly urban or easily accessible venue from major cities, as it is described as being 'in the middle of nowhere'.

  • A new Health Center with a staff member on duty administers daily medications and treats minor injuries (stings, bumps, bruises).
  • Counselors are certified in First Aid and CPR.
  • Over-the-counter medication is provided to campers as needed; specific restrictions must be noted on the Health History Form.

This is like a gem in the middle of nowhere. The facilities and the camp managers are really nice. Some of the mattresses aren’t the longest and the softest but that is only a little critique. It is very clean everywhere and the bathrooms in the cabins are nice. My group had a great time at KDYG and we hope they host it here again.

I loved going here as a kid and now my son loves it too. They have made many improvements, especially to the boys cabins.

RSR Staff are amazing. They answered all my questions and took such good care of our camper. I would recommend any family consider this camp for their camper or family reunion.

I attended the Becoming an Outdoors Woman camp this past weekend and was impressed with the facilities at Rock Springs. I had attended camp there decades ago as a child and was surprised that everything was still well maintained. The Henson cabins were clean and had a nice common area with comfortable couches. The public bathrooms at the dining hall and education building were clean. The dining hall had wonderful staff and the food was good. As a vegetarian, I was able to find enough to eat every meal. So glad this place has not gone downhill!
