3 years agoExcellent playground surrounded by hiking trails and near the beach. Soft jazz played in the background as our kids played and we enjoyed a beautiful Saturday in Seattle. There were plenty of picnic tables lined to have a good view of the playground, bathrooms were in good condition and there is a large grassy area the provides lots of room for running. The ice cream truck even made it's rounds nearby. Idealic.

5 years agoCarkeek Park is old. I know that because it was old when I used to play there. I used to go to day camp at Carkeek and play on the playground there so it’s at least 20 years old. It’s a great playground and park to take your kids to or just to go to if you don’t have kids. There are trails and a beach and a salmon run. There are barbecue pits and covered picnic tables. There are several levels of the park and so there are multiple meadows and other places to sit or play than just the playground. I have always loved Carkeek. My kids love Carkeek. If you are looking for a new park I would recommend checking out Carkeek.

7 months agoFun playground for kids who love to climb. The slide goes down from tail to the mouth. Located by the hillside, the surrounding area is a natural climbing playground area for kids. Shaded and across from grassy field so parents can relax on the grass and still keep their kids in their line of sight. Near shelters and picnic tables, restrooms, multiple trail entrances, and bridge to the beach. Plenty of parking nearby though weekends can be busy. Highly recommended.

4 years agoLots of space to be with family - there's a playground and various paths to walk and hike. However parking can be tough, especially on nice days.
