"Went for a fun ~5 mi out and back hike from the Johnston Fire Station entrance to the summit. Beautiful fall day. Saw some other hikers and 1 hunter, all friendly. We are from LI where there is very little elevation change, rocks or running water so this was a special treat. Hiking boots are recommended for some of the rockier areas, waterproof if possible if you are balance challenged like me when crossing streams. Recommended!"

"Large State Park with extensive trail system. Alltrails was very helpful here, trails were only partially marked. There is a pretty good view point from one of the hills, some swampy areas, and lots of rocky cliffs and a small canyon. Hiked an hour and a half and left with much more still to see."

"It's a nice park for riding or hiking. The wide fire roads are very accessible to newer riders, but the narrower and more hilly trails have a lot of rocks that can make them quite challenging."
