a year agoWent for a fun ~5 mi out and back hike from the Johnston Fire Station entrance to the summit. Beautiful fall day. Saw some other hikers and 1 hunter, all friendly. We are from LI where there is very little elevation change, rocks or running water so this was a special treat. Hiking boots are recommended for some of the rockier areas, waterproof if possible if you are balance challenged like me when crossing streams. Recommended!

2 years agoLarge State Park with extensive trail system. Alltrails was very helpful here, trails were only partially marked. There is a pretty good view point from one of the hills, some swampy areas, and lots of rocky cliffs and a small canyon. Hiked an hour and a half and left with much more still to see.

4 years agoIt's a nice park for riding or hiking. The wide fire roads are very accessible to newer riders, but the narrower and more hilly trails have a lot of rocks that can make them quite challenging.
