5 months agoThis is a cool little park that is behind The Bowl and has a great view. The park backs up to water and fountains at The Ballantyne Hotel. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Ample tables to sit in as well. The park is small but has rock climbing walls and slides. There is also a hammock park. The turf is coming up in some places and poses a bit of a trip hazard in some parts.

8 months agoThe park was alright… it was geared for younger kids, but there wasn’t enough to stay there for an extended time. There were 3 slides, climbing wall, and some other things to climb on. Kids were also sliding down the turf. Probably wouldn’t go back since it wasn’t as close to the bowl as I expected. Kids definitely needed supervision/assistance.

a year agoReally cool spot. Right behind the Ballantyne Hotel. A lot of construction is going on in that area right now so there are a lot of road and sidewalk closures but if you go to the hotel parking lot, you will see an area with a sidewalk that takes you around the back of the hotel, right down to stream park. Its right past the spa and the walk you would take to get to the hotels pool area. We saw a snake in that stream today. It looked, to me, very much like a copperhead so everyone just make sure to keep your eyes open when you are out there. It was neat though. My kid loved it! Beautiful hotel, nice park. Right next to the water with the fountains in it too. It was really nice out there. Places to sit, a little rock wall to climb, hammocks to read a book and relax in. It's super nice.

a month agoThe play area was a little small and crowded but it was a nice day and peaceful near the little pond in front of the hotel. Enjoyed the walk way and rocking chairs, they also had hammocks but they were all taken.

a year agoDecided on a weeknight picnic in the park as I have been interested to see this new recreation area in the heart of Ballantyne. Park in the hotel parking and access the park from either end of the hotel. No need to go through the hotel. Part of the Ballantyne Reimagined Project, this is a beautiful open park with several separate areas for seating, lounging and playing. There is an open grassy area where a couple of kids were practicing lacrosse. We sat on the Adirondack chairs overlooking the pond with fountains to eat. A short walk took us past the unusually creative children’s play area and in the future one will be able to access the new entertainment amphitheater by walking under the bridge currently under construction. This is sure to be a favorite place to play in Ballantyne for adults and children alike.
