Expert Summary

Detailed Insights

Despite the business being identified as 'Summer Camp', the customer reviews provided are for a restaurant/bar, not a children's summer camp or entertainment venue. Therefore, the insights are geared towards families looking for a dining experience. This spot is primarily worth visiting for its highly-praised smash burgers, often described as 'excellent' or 'the bomb', and a range of interesting cocktails like the jalapeño hibiscus margarita. It offers a 'cute new spot with a great outdoor vibe' and is notable for being dog-friendly in its outdoor seating area. However, be prepared for potentially small portion sizes and an Old Fashioned cocktail that deviates from traditional recipes.

Key Highlights

  • Smash burger consistently receives high praise: 'absolutely scrumptious' (Review 1), 'excellent!' (Review 2), 'the bomb' with 'super soft and different bread' (Review 4).
  • Fries are noted for a 'perfect balance between crispy and soft' by one reviewer (Review 1).
  • Onion rings are described as 'tasty and not over battered' (Review 1) and 'fire' (Review 4).
  • Cocktails, particularly the 'jalapeño hibiscus margarita', are highlighted as 'good, very different refreshing' (Review 4) and generally 'amazing!' (Review 1).
  • The 'Philly steak' and 'wings' are enjoyed (Review 2), and a 'Hoagie' is described as 'delicius' (Review 4).
  • Features a 'cute new spot with a great outdoor vibe' (Review 2) and 'nice atmosphere' (Review 5).
  • Allows dogs to enjoy lunch with patrons (Review 4).

Standout Features

  • Dog-friendly outdoor seating for meals (Review 4).
  • Quick service when the venue is not crowded (Review 3).
  • High-quality smash burgers and interesting cocktails as a dining draw.

Perfect For

No specific activities or facilities for children mentioned in the reviews. More suited for families looking for a casual meal, potentially with older children or teens who appreciate burger/cocktail menus, rather than active entertainment for younger kids. The comment about 'kid size meal' refers to adult portion sizes, not actual children's meals.

Ideal For

Casual meals with family, including those with well-behaved dogs for outdoor dining (Review 4).
Adults and older teens who enjoy smash burgers, good cocktails, and a lively (or sometimes quiet) atmosphere.
A quick meal if the place isn't crowded (Review 3).

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • If dining with pets, utilize the outdoor seating (Review 4).
  • Be aware that food portions can be small (Review 3).
  • If you prefer a traditional Old Fashioned, inquire about its preparation or choose a different cocktail, as it's not made with sweetener (Review 5).
  • If sensitive to salt, you might consider requesting less seasoning on your food (Review 5).
  • The music selection inside might be unconventional or 'whack' (Review 1).

Things to Consider

  • Music selection inside is described as 'whack' (Review 1).
  • Fries are noted as 'a little disappointing with seasoning' by some (Review 2).
  • Portions are described as 'very small, just enough to tease you, kind of like a kid size meal' (Review 3).
  • The Old Fashioned cocktail is not made with simple syrup or sweetener, leading to disappointment for those expecting a traditional version (Review 5).
  • Low quality cocktail ice contributed to an unpleasant aftertaste in one drink (Review 5).
  • Food can be 'oversalted to the point where it's the only flavor coming through', with one reviewer stating their 'lips to be nearly pickled' (Review 5).

Price & Value

No specific pricing is mentioned in the reviews. However, the description of portions as 'very small, just enough to tease you, kind of like a kid size meal' (Review 3) suggests that some customers may find the value for money on food to be low, especially if they are accustomed to larger servings.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No information regarding accessibility for special needs or disabilities is mentioned in the reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • The establishment serves its own food and cocktails. Dogs are explicitly allowed in the outdoor dining area for lunch (Review 4). No information regarding outside food or specific dietary policies (e.g., nut-free) is provided.

🚗Parking Info

  • No information about parking facilities or availability is mentioned in the reviews.

👥Crowd Levels

  • The venue can be quiet at times, described as 'not but a hand full of people there' leading to quick service (Review 3). No information about peak hours or typical crowd levels is provided.

🛡️Safety Features

  • No safety features related to children's activities or play areas are mentioned, consistent with the venue being a restaurant/bar rather than a typical children's entertainment center.

When to Avoid

  • If you are looking for large meal portions (Review 3).
  • If you dislike overly salted food, as this has been reported (Review 5).
  • If you expect a traditional, sweetened Old Fashioned cocktail (Review 5).
  • If you are seeking entertainment or activities specifically designed for young children (no information mentioned).

Idk why this place isn't rated higher! Aside from the whack music selection inside, the food and cocktails were amazing! The BCS and smash burger were absolutely scrumptious. Fries had the perfect balance between crispy and soft. Onion rings were tasty and not over battered. Will definitely return!

Cute new spot with a great outdoor vibe. Smashburger was excellent! Hubs loved the Philly steak and wings. Bread was yummy. Would have loved to see them spice up their fries, a little disappointing with seasoning. We will surely be back to try other options and the cocktails.

Beware, the Old Fashioned is not made with a simple syrup or sweetener of any kind. If you order and expect a traditional Old Fashioned then prepare to be disappointed. The lack of any sweetener certainly helped the unpleasant aftertaste of the low quality cocktail ice come through. Food was equally unimpressive. If you like your food oversalted to the point where it's the only flavor coming through then this is the place for you. Prepare for your lips to be nearly pickled by the time you finish your food and leave. I'm extremely disappointed to see that this is what Bandit BBQ was shelved in favor for. Hey, at least the atmosphere is nice.
