Expert Summary

Detailed Insights

The Grove Resort & Water Park offers a spacious resort aesthetic with beautiful pools and a variety of activities for kids, supported by specific highly-praised staff members. However, the overall experience is significantly hampered by widespread maintenance issues, cleanliness problems, poor guest services, unreliable infrastructure (elevators, shuttles), and high on-site prices, leading to a generally negative value perception for most guests.

Key Highlights

  • Specific staff members (Dalijiah, Eric, Nina, Rashad, Ethan) are highly praised for their excellent service and positive interaction with families.
  • The Floride activity is described as fun and worth the money for older kids/teens.
  • Cabana rental at the water park provides shade, space, and dedicated service (highly recommended by one reviewer).
  • The hotel's aesthetic and pools are visually beautiful.
  • Family 3-bedroom suites are very spacious and well-equipped.
  • Location is convenient for Disney parks.

Standout Features

  • Spacious 3-bedroom suites with pool views and full amenities.
  • Beautifully designed pools and overall hotel aesthetic (visual appeal).
  • Cabana rentals at the water park for shaded, comfortable, and serviced lounging.
  • Convenient location for visiting Disney parks.
  • Specific highly-rated recreational activities like the Floride and hair braiding.

Perfect For

School-aged children and teens: Specific activities like the Floride and hair braiding hut are mentioned as enjoyable for daughters/sisters, implying suitability for this age range.
Families with young children: Water park and pools are generally suitable, but cleanliness and water pressure issues could be a concern.

Ideal For

Families seeking a spacious suite near Disney parks, with the understanding that on-site quality and service may be inconsistent.
Guests who prioritize specific water park activities and are willing to pay extra for cabanas or specific experiences.
Visitors who value aesthetically pleasing pools, despite other maintenance issues.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Consider alternative resorts like Great Wolf Lodge in Naples for a better experience.
  • If staying, request a main resort room instead of the Terraces to avoid being far from amenities and relying on unreliable shuttles.
  • Be prepared to wait for elevators, especially with strollers or on higher floors, or choose a lower floor if you don't have kids.
  • Do not count on internal shuttles; plan to walk if staying in the Terraces or needing to move between buildings.
  • Bring your own toiletries and towels or be prepared to ask for them repeatedly.
  • Plan to purchase essentials (like sunscreen) off-site before arrival, as on-site market prices are double retail and often unmarked.
  • Arrive early at the water park if you want a sunbed, as they are limited and often in the shade.
  • Rent a cabana at the water park for guaranteed shade, space, and dedicated service.

Things to Consider

  • Hotel is described as old, run down, poorly laid out, making it easy to get lost.
  • Rooms are beat up with scratched/dented/missing paint furniture, dated decor, and dirty old carpets.
  • Significant cleanliness issues: hair found everywhere (including plates), sheets/towels with stains and 'crusty stuff'.
  • Water park closing times are inconsistent with advertising (advertised 8 PM, kicked out at 6:45 PM).
  • Lazy river water quality is poor (brown water, mulch).
  • Terrible water pressure in showers, making it difficult to shower children.
  • Stairwells and parking garage were found with puke.
  • Property design feels like converted apartments, leading to issues like insufficient and often broken elevators, causing long waits, especially problematic with strollers or for higher floors.
  • Walls are super thin, allowing noise from adjacent rooms to be heard clearly.
  • Significant security concern: TV displayed incorrect room number and name, front desk dismissed it.
  • Terraces rooms are not connected to the main hotel and are far from amenities.
  • Internal shuttle service is unreliable and should not be counted on.
  • Management is described as extremely lacking; staff are plentiful in the main lobby but unhelpful for needs outside of it.
  • Market prices for items (e.g., Sunbum sunscreen 6oz for $20) have no tags, requiring guests to pay register price, often 2x value.
  • Apartments had numerous broken/non-working items (blinds, lamps, sockets).
  • Toiletries/towels were not consistently provided in rooms upon arrival.
  • Not enough sunbeds at the water park, and many were in the shade; early queuing is required for a spot.

Price & Value

Poor value overall, with many guests considering it a 'waste of money.' Car parking is $30 per night. On-site market items are significantly overpriced (e.g., Sunbum sunscreen 6oz for $20, plan to pay 2x value). While some specific activities like the Floride are deemed 'worth every penny,' the general cost of stay combined with widespread issues and expensive on-site amenities makes the overall value proposition very low.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific positive accessibility accommodations mentioned.
  • Elevator issues (long waits, frequent breakdowns) make property navigation difficult for families with strollers or those with mobility challenges.
  • Poor property layout contributes to guests getting lost.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • On-site market available for food/snack purchases, but items are expensive and often unmarked.
  • No explicit policy on outside food mentioned in reviews, but high on-site prices suggest bringing own snacks could be beneficial.

🚗Parking Info

  • Paid parking available at $30 per night.
  • Plenty of carparking available.
  • Parking garage was reported to have cleanliness issues ('puke everywhere').

👥Crowd Levels

  • Elevators can have long lines and waits.
  • Water park requires early queuing for sunbeds due to limited availability.
  • Days can be busy, as a recreation manager was praised for handling a busy day with grace.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Significant security concern reported: TV in room displayed incorrect room number and guest name, and front desk dismissed the issue, causing distrust in privacy and security.
  • No other specific safety features mentioned by guests.

When to Avoid

  • Families with high expectations for cleanliness, modern amenities, or consistent service.
  • Families with strollers or staying on higher floors who rely on functional, quick elevators.
  • Guests sensitive to noise, as walls are thin.
  • Anyone prioritizing security, given the reported TV display issue.
  • Staying in the Terraces building if you prefer to be close to the main facilities or rely on hotel shuttles.
  • Guests on a tight budget for on-site food, drinks, or market items.
  • If you expect advertised water park hours to be strictly adhered to.
  • Expecting sufficient sunbeds at the water park without queuing early.

Honestly I do not understand how this hotel could be rated as a 4 star. I’m pretty shocked by how deceiving the pictures are. This place is old, run down, and so poorly laid out. Everyone gets lost pretty much the entire time. I thought it was just my family and then I watched pretty much all the other guests struggle the same way. The rooms are so beat up. Furniture is scratched, dented, missing paint and is super dated. Carpet is old and dirty. We had hair everywhere when we arrived. Even on the plates in the cabinet. All of our sheets and towels had stains and weird crusty stuff on them. I had them bring a fresh bag to our room. Took approximately an hour and the new bag was even worse. The water park said it closed at 8. It was even advertised through the park but then they kicked us out at 6:45 and said they close at 6:50. Very specific time. Which was fine because the lazy river was disgustingly. The water was brown and had so much mulch in it. Water pressure is terrible. Good luck showering a kid. Save yourself the trip and head to Great Wolf Lodge in Naples because this is a waste of money! Oh and stairwells and parking garage had puke everywhere. So gross.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. I can't wait to never go back! The property was not created as a hotel- it looks like they were meant to be apartments and they changed their minds last minute to make it a hotel. You might not think that would be a big deal but think about how many times you come and go from your home/apartment vs how many times you go to and from your hotel room. Much more movement in a hotel so you have to have more elevators that function at a higher capacity. If you do not have kids and are on a lower floor- you should not have an issue but with a stroller or on a higher floor- you will be screwed. Be prepared to wait in a line for the elevators and finding yourself hauling everything to the next elevator (not close) when one is broken like it was for us. Also the walls are super thin and you can hear everything in the room next door. Another huge issue I had with the property is security. During our stay, the TV displayed an incorrect room number and name- when I informed the front desk, they made it seem like it happened all the time and shrugged it off. The Operator was condescending and was explaining why this would happen; that the room was not set up properly. Well I don't really care how the room was setup- I do not trust that our name and room number is not displayed in a random room of the hotel. So if you want the rooms near you to know your name and room number- def check this hotel out.

Stayed at the grove, was assigned a room in the Terraces which is not connected to the the main hotel or any main building. (Its pretty far from everything) Although the hotel does say they have internal shuttles running from 9-? Every 30 min, please don't count on it. There was no one at the front desk of the terraces upon our arrival or departure. Arrival was 1030pm, departure was 330am, i did go to the main lobby asked if someone would be there to check us out and they assured they have since (2days ago) changed their policies to have someone there. During the day, i asked the front desk if someone would be there at 330am, and he said yes, i will be here all night. Obviously, no one was there at 330. The esthetic of the hotel is gorgeous, the pools are beautiful, and the staffing is plenty, but management is extremely lacking. You can go to the main lobby and there will be staff galore walking around chatting, but if you need anything outside of that lobby be it shuttle, food, question, assistance do not count on it! Prices of the market have no tags, so you pay whatever the register says, ex. Sunbum sunscreen 6oz was $20. So, plan to pay at least 2x value. Ok , it's a resort. I get it, but at least mark everything so people know! Overall, our stay was mediocre. If you stay, request a main resort room, not the terraces. Otherwise plan to get your steps in.

Stayed here early April 2025 for 5 days. The good: The family 3 bed suite was very spacious overlooking the pool, and had everything needed. Plenty of carparking available ($30 per night.) Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was convenient for Disney parks. The not so good: Apartment was dated with quite a few broken/not working items. Blinds, lamps, sockets etc. We had to ask for toiletries/ towels as these had not been provided. Everything onsite was incredibly expensive. There were not enough sunbeds and many were in the shade. You had to queue early for the small waterpark if you wanted a sunbed. Overall we did enjoy our stay but would rate this as a 3 star place. We wouldn't return here.

So the grove was excellent. Great activities for kids, and a wonderful resort. Dalijiah was a wonderful help by the springs, he’s the man. Eric at the floride was a vibe assisted in my daughter, sister, and myself with the floride which was so fun and worth every penny! Nina at the hair braid hut was amazing, my daughter was thrilled with her hair. Rashad the recreation manager handled a busy day with grace. Finally Ethan was our wonderful server at our Cabana at the water park (highly recommend) great way to spend the day at the water park but still have shade and space. The staff here are incredible.
