a month agoAlthough I have lived in Charlotte three separate times and have visited many times while not living there, I had never been to the Mint Museum until this week. I was pleasantly surprised. Their Contemporary Art gallery is pretty impressive. There are so many works that I simply loved. I’ll be back to visit the collection again. The one thing the museum absolutely has to do is print a purchasable guide / catalog of its permanent collection. Not having one is a lost revenue opportunity.

2 months agoI had the pleasure of photographing Annie and Mitchell's wedding at the Mint Museum Uptown in October 2024. The venue itself is gorgeous! I love all the options for photo locations and how close it is to everything in uptown. I highly recommend this venue to any upcoming couples!

2 months agoIf you haven't gone to see Southern Modern, you owe it to yourself to go. The exhibit will be at the Mint until Feb 2, 2025. 100 paintings from the Mid-Century period when American artists re-shaped the art world. They reflect the time in our country's history full of struggle as well as the personal stories and testaments to humanity's successes and failures. Take time to view the exhibit. Slow view the works. Spend more than 3 minutes looking at a painting. Visually grasp the subtleties and nuances. The information for each work of art was written to help the viewer understand the significance this collection has in society today. Charlotte and the Carolinas is fortunate to have Southern Modern at the Mint Museum.

a month agoThe website is very helpful. It was great getting easily into the parking deck. The elevator was on the deck and got me right to the Mint. So much to see with the different floors. I'll definitely be back.

a month agoWe had a lovely time!! I surprised my daughter for her 24th bday with 4 of her besties and me in an adventure from Mooresville to the Mint. The exhibits were great (we all LOVED seeing the kids' and youngins' art), all the "plan your visit" info on the site helped alleviate my city anxiety. Even the store was fun, had plenty of inexpensive fun options. All of the staff everywhere was great and helpful and passionate. We had a great day at the Mint!
