2 weeks agoI recently saw Jersey Boys at the Phoenix Theatre Company, and let me tell you—it was electric! From the very first note to the final bow, the energy, talent, and heart on that stage were absolutely unmatched. I’ve been coming to this theater since 2008, and while the space has grown and evolved over the years, one thing has stayed the same: the pure magic that happens here. The actors are phenomenal, the crew runs a seamless show, and the staff always makes you feel like a welcomed guest at something truly special. Every production I’ve seen here has blown me away, but Jersey Boys had me dancing in my seat and singing all the way home. (Frankie Valli high notes included.) I didn’t even make it to the parking lot before I was already searching for tickets to their next production—Into the Woods! If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor: grab a ticket, dress up a little, and prepare to be amazed. The Phoenix Theatre Company is a true gem in the Valley and continues to prove that Broadway-level talent lives right here in Arizona!

3 months agoMy neighbor gifted our family with four tickets to the Phoenix Theater to see Miracle on 34th St. in the days after Christmas. It was a lovely family outing to end the holiday season. The show was wonderful, but being that is not running anymore, this review is for the theater. Per their website, "The Phoenix Theatre Company, originally founded as the Phoenix Players in 1920, is the oldest arts organizations in Arizona and remains one of the oldest operating arts organizations in the country." It has gone through extensive updates over the years, and they are currently almost done raising 20 million to fund a new theater addition. After you walk through the Steven Spielberg entrance (this is where he debuted his first film), you enter a beautiful green garden that is shared with the Phoenix Art Museum next door. Their ArtBar+Bistro opens two hours before showtime. The menu offers apps, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and dessert. As you enter your theater, there is a small beverage bar as well to grab a drink on the way in and at intermission. This is a beautiful theatre company. The actors, of all ages, were wonderful. The theater ushers were kind and really seemed to love their job and the actors. I'm excited to return for another production someday.

3 weeks agoOn April 1, we started my daughter’s birthday month with Jersey boys front row. We are culture, vultures, and thespians. First of all, we were so grateful for the two for one tickets on Tuesdays. Second of all, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. This Theatre company never disappoints.

a month agoWe try to catch as many showings here as possible and just saw Churchill. It's a great theater with great performances and actors. Fairly well priced tickets with the occasional promotions as well. They also have cheap tickets for artists and students.

2 weeks agoVery professional production of "Jersey Boys!" Performers were stellar, direction and staging superb. There wasn't a bad seat in the Hormel theater. They probably could use a little extra funds on the lighting - it sometimes seemed limited. The quick change timing of the fast paced production was challenging, but the lighting techs kept up. Handicapped parking was ample and easy to navigate from there to the theater. Could use some better signage from the entrance of the complex to the actual theater entrance - we wandered past it in the central courtyard because we only saw signs for the "bistro and cafe " and not the theater entrance. For newbies, this was a bit challenging. Gorgeous campus!
