3 weeks agoThe Rabbit Hole is amazing! I had no idea it existed until my friend shared her experience with us. She told us all about the great time she had, shared pictures and she gave my daughter a map. It looked like so much fun, we had to come check it out for ourselves. I’m so glad we did! It took me back to my childhood. Some of my all time favorite books are featured. Each exhibit perfectly depicts its story. It was such a neat experience. I hope to bring the rest of my family back in the future. We really had a good time. The cafe at the end is the best. The meals represent the stories as well. Super cool idea! Beware. The cafe is cashless and the entrance won’t take $100 bills unless you spend $60. That caused an issue for us since we only brought cash. My 11 year old paid the entry fees and bought us lunch on a loan.

a month agoCan I give it more than 5 stars? This was by far the coolest, most unique children's museum. Love the literary theme, so fun to see the books come to life. My four year old was so giddy with joy to explore all the cave and to see all the book exhibits. We spent way more time there than we anticipated, playing with the interactive exhibits and then reading stories. There was a free craft activity while we were there. Cafe wasn't open when we were there but had themed menu. Bookstore with reading area. One suggestion would be to add a nursing room, not really any quiet private areas. Seems like they were adding even more exhibits, would definitely want to come back to see more!

a month agoThis is such a cute experience for kids and parents to enjoy together. I took my 1, 3, and 10 year old, and they all had a good time. I would suggest researching the books they are featuring first and reading them with your kiddos so they can relate the atmosphere to the books they've read. If you don't get them all read, though, they do have the story books at every station so you can sit and read them to your kids. They also have an amazing bookstore at the end of the museum that has numerous books and gifts.

2 months agoBeautiful, fun, enticing, and nostalgic! You feel as if you have stepped into various children books that have been enjoyed throughout so many lives and have been passed on, generation to generation. Does seem that there are plans to expand and develop more exhibits which will be exciting to enjoy and visit in the future! We went on a cold Sunday, and it was busy but still was able to enjoy the museum without feeling overwhelmed the entire visit.

3 months agoWhat a fabulous experience! I happened to be driving cross-country through Kansas City over the summer, and I'm so glad I made the time to stop at The Rabbit hOle! I visited first thing in the morning and rushed through in about 40 minutes, as I needed to get back on the road. I attended alone, as a 42-year-old, and I had a great time living the nostalgia of my youth. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves, from families with small children, all the way up to groups of retirees. The exhibits were interactive, from things to climb in, on and through, to a pupppet theater, and a human-size "hamster wheel" to power a tugboat. I loved the range of books from "vintage" to current-day favorites. Many of them I had long forgotten from my childhood but instantly brought back fond memories. It looked like they were still expanding, and if I find myself in KS again, I will definitely plan to return and spend more time!
