2 months agoThis museum is located in the American Academy of Ophthalmology headquarters building. This in itself is unique because most major medical associations are on the East coast. Admission is free and appropriate for all ages. You will find interesting exhibits, many of which are hands-on. Throughout the year they host eye-related events for the public, such as a presentation on opening champagne bottles safely, and creating Lover's Eyes.

4 months agoInteresting Eye Museum, had a new years exibit, where they explained how to not shoit a champagne cirk into your eye, super cool & interesting, we learned how to open a champagne bottle ,the right way( without shooting your or someone elses eye out😉) Afterwards we all got a glass of champagne, so lovely.

a year agoA great museum of Vision that will speak to all ages and at all depths of knowledge. I especially liked the exhibits relating to world wide comparisons of symbolism among different cultures. The touch key interaction was easy to navigate. The actual antiquities on display are priceless. There was a very interesting Latino traditional craft tree Ochos de Dios on display. Keep changing the exhibits. So that I can see something different and return. Admission is free !

a year agoNot to be missed! Has some of the most important artifacts in the history of ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery. Has a collection of the original intraocular lenses, the very first slit lamp/eye microscope and a number of other interesting items. It’s also free and in a really nice area near Ghirardelli Square.
