a month agoThe Capitol has just been redone, and it is gorgeous. The marble is from Georgia. The paintings are amazing. The most lavish room was the room where the Governor greets visitors. They saw everything in it that looks like gold-is gold. The supreme court is quite lovely as well. However the most extraordinary thing is the view from the top of the Capitol steps. Nothing is so magnificent as nature, and Salt Lake is surrounded by it.

2 weeks agoRefreshing view with historical building. Went there for a quick stop before I left Utah. The view tho so worth the time. It’s not just the place, the location also great. I saw a lot of people walking by just to enjoy the sun and the view.

a month agoA very impressive state capitol! We've been to a bunch of capitols, and this one ranks highly in terms of its setting, on a hill with majestic snowy mountains behind it. The main rotunda and hall is absolutely beautiful and I can see why so many couples get their wedding pictures done there (we saw 8 brides while we were visiting - great people watching). There are a few art exhibits, sculptures, and display cases about the state, but it is less of a museum than some other capitols. The assembly room was closed for renovations when we were there and had been for a few months, they said (March 2025).

2 months agoWent wentnhere ona city tour. Absolutely beautiful state Capitol building! We didn't get to see much of it, but what we saw was awe-inspiring. Beautiful architecture, paintings, and sculptures. Would live to come again and have a full tour

a month agoIt’s a magnificent building with plenty of cherries planted around the lawn. It free for entry with a free guided tour at 3 pm and 4 pm daily. It’s must see if you are in Salt Lake City.
