Wabun Picnic Area

"One of the best parks I’ve found so far. It has a little play area for toddlers which includes an RV and a much larger playground for bigger kids (or ambitious littles). There’s also a big sand area, small mulch area, and everything is accessible. As others have noted, there are a few musical instruments including plastic bongo drums and some bells. They were my 15 month old son’s favorite part."

"It’s a hidden gem up above the busy falls. There’s ample parking - amazingly spots even on the busiest summer days. The trees are beautiful, the wading pool is large and cool, and the play park is entertaining for all ages. Our one criticism is that vehicle traffic - including buses and electric bikes - take precedent in the area over walking paths and regular bikes."

"It’s a beautiful space, though it was packed when I got there (@2pm on a Sunday). There was not one table available and the gazebos were all full. That said, it cleared out more by 3pm, and I had a lovely time with my group. It’s such a valuable resource to have in the city. I highly recommend the Wabun Picnic Area, but be aware of peak times. Also, it was a perfect Fall day, bringing even more people out. This is another gem in our amazing park system!"
