Willmore Park

I’ve been coming to this park since I was a kid, and let me tell you—it never stopped feeling like magic. Tucked away like a little green secret, this place has been the backdrop to so many of my memories. As a kid, I ran wild here—sticky popsicle hands, scraped knees, chasing friends through the trees like we were in some epic fantasy world. And now, years later, it still feels like a sanctuary, a piece of peace carved out in the chaos of life. The park has aged like fine wine—well-kept trails, clean benches, and lush green spaces that somehow manage to look like a Bob Ross painting year-round. The staff clearly cares. Trash is never overflowing, the bathrooms don’t make you fear for your life, and the landscaping is always on point. Every corner feels intentional—like someone loves this place as much as I do. There’s something for everyone. A massive playground where the laughter of kids never stops. Grills and pavilions where families turn weekends into feast days. Jogging paths shaded by towering trees that whisper when the wind rolls through. And that pond? A reflective little mirror where ducks glide like royalty and turtles sunbathe like lazy kings. I’ve journaled there, cried there, healed there. That spot is therapy without the copay. As I’ve grown, this park has grown with me. It’s the kind of place where you fall in love during a late summer picnic or just get lost in thought on a solo walk. It holds history without feeling old, offers peace without feeling empty. It’s not just a park—it’s a living scrapbook, a grounding place that reminds me where I came from and gives me room to breathe, think, and be. If you’re looking for noise, chaos, or Instagrammable crowds, keep it moving. But if you want a place that feels like home even if it’s your first time visiting? Pull up. Sit down. Let the trees do the talking. I’m giving this place five stars because there aren’t six.

Every single toilet was locked. Please insure the toilets are excessible. Many people were at the park today and no one had a single place to go to relieve themselves. There is no excuse for that unless you want people peeing on the ground.

My favorite parts to play pickleball at. However, one of the other local places the pickleball courts seems to be under construction. So recently the courts have been busier than normal. There are six pickleball courts and two tennis courts. There is a dog park and a lake that you can go fishing in, however, you have to release all the fish that you catch Free parking. Bathroom facilities. There is at least one covered picnic area, how are there maybe more. Dogs are allowed outside the dog park on leash. Recommend this part for sure.

Disc golf course is excellent. A little confusing which direction you are supposed to go in for the next hole but if you have a disc app you should be fine. Course is easy enough for a beginner.

Large park with two lakes, disc golf, pickleball and futsal courts, am accessible playground, and a members-only dog park. Lots of shelters for picnics and celebrations, a fire pit, lakes stocked with fish, ample parking, plenty of trails, geese, ducks, egrets, and more.
