2 weeks agoThis is a genuinely beautiful park with a well-maintained playground, making it a great spot for families. The walking paths are lined with lovely greenery and there are flat enclosed areas that feel perfect for picnics. I also appreciated the free entry and available grills. However, a few issues held it back from being ideal. The restrooms, while functional (flushing toilets, thankfully no "dark hole of doom"), had broken lighting, it was a little uncomfortably dark, also not the most clean. Worse, some inconsiderate visitors left condom wrappers inside near the fire area, which was pretty gross. The layout also felt a little odd in places some paths weirdly put you right next to someone’s backyard, breaking the park’s atmosphere. Still, it was a nice walk overall. With better upkeep and more respectful visitors, this could be a real gem.

2 years agoSUPER MODERN BRAND NEW PLAYGROUND!!! 😮😮👍👍 I have taken my 4-year-old son to 164 different playgrounds in the Greater Raleigh Area (207 playgrounds all total) and I think I’d hafta say this playground was thee most modern/futuristic playground structure I have seen so far! It was super cool the way it was built and all the different playground features and elements that it has to offer for kids! It’s not “your normal” playground for sure, but still super fun for kids to find new and creative ways to play on. Even the bars and poles that their swingsets hang from are modern. I love that this little playground area is nestled back in the middle of a grove of tall trees and is completely shaded. Great Job, Durham, on this AWESOME, SUPER COOL and MODERN-LOOKING CREATIVE PLAYGROUND STRUCTURE! LOVED IT!!! 👍👍

a year agoThe play structures look new and updated. The baseball field was nice too. A bit tricky to find the first time as it is a single road in and out. Very peaceful and quiet with lovely trees around.

11 months agoSmaller more private park. The road is very narrow and only one car can go down at a time. Does have bathroom on site. It's a cute little stop but can get overcrowded quickly

9 months agoDespite having a mulch base and an entry driveway that makes you think, "Can this really be right? Am I supposed to be driving here?" my one year old and eight year old and friend's 4 and 2 year olds had THE BEST TIME. There seemed to be something for every level of development. And there is a bathroom in the picnic shelter for those who aren't in diapers any longer. Something that especially stood out was the small, low, child-sized picnic table located next to the younger-kids' play structure. Absolutely perfect for empowering children to eat at a table while taking a pause from play. And ingenious to make it from metal netting so that the invariable kid mess falls to the ground to decompose as nature intended, rather than create an icky surface no one wanted to use.
