3 years agoI visited during COVID19 pandemic, it's not worth 12. Most of playing areas are close and the only open one has limitations and it's ver busy. Besides that, the animals cages are very small. I felt very bad for them. Animals look sad and tired. The most interesting animals are Alligator and Jaguar, both trying to hide from people and very hard to spot. And I don't understand why the parking is not free while it's within their properties and there's not any other facilities around it.

4 years agoNot so Happy Hollow... we were there today with our kids. Almost all rides and playgrounds are closed, one way route goes next to all of them and created a lot of disappointment and frustration for the kids. The Zoo is open but definitely not worth a visit only for the zoo. We will not go back before rides will be open.

4 years agoBe AWARE ⚠ - this is a TINY "zoo" - NOT worth $18 bucks -esp NOT during covid protocol where u can only walk thru once one-way & most of the other areas ate CLOSED. i paid $8.50 which may be a fair rate when EVERYTHING is open - esp if u have kids. As I was reading in a fellow tried to explain to me that this was not an actual Zoo as much as it was a rehabilitation facility as such they should label it as such - I would be more than willing to give her a contribution for injured animals and things like that but when you come expecting baby several hours to look at some animals big and large and you only see a handful of animals mostly smallest it's a little bit disappointing. also the parking on the side is NOT the main parking but they don't have a sign so if u walk-in you have to take a little bit of a walk all the way around to get to the main entrance. Oh, it's also $6 for parking unless u find a place on the street which isn't very easy

3 years agoBest local zoo for younger kids, parents, grandparents. Clean fun lots to do. I went there as a kid, took my kids and now grandkids. Lots of great memories. This zoo is non profit, so don't complain about prices you are helping the zoo, city of San Jose , programs the zoo has, helps seniors, children.

2 years agoThe most disappointing thing about this zoo is that there weren’t any capybaras in the capybara exhibit, but at least there were other cute animals like meerkats and wallabies.
