a month agoSometimes you need a night out and a new entertainment option. This week Alamo had one. The entertainment was the best, it was crowded but the group was nice. I'll admit, I don't like this part of town at night, but it was a good evening and should they have another event I will go, but only with a couple friends.

4 months agoA fantastic Alamo location that's only a few minutes from downtown. They have an open bar/dinner area in the lobby where you can hang with your friends before the show. The retro feel is in every part of the building, you can tell they put all of their love for movies until the ambiance, I enjoyed browsing the posters, shelves, and merch. The staff are friendly and were willing to make recommendations on movies and food. The seats in the theaters are reasonably comfortable, and I say this as someone with chronic back pain. The popcorn is TASTY, it was dangerous for me to have a whole bowl to myself! I enjoyed the fried cauliflower. They also take the Alamo rules seriously: someone started repeatedly talking during my movie, and before I could even get my card up, they addressed it with that person (THANK YOU, that's why I come here). Also, they're trying out a new gratuity model where they automatically apply an 18% service charge, which I support. Overall a great experience, I'll definitely come back when I'm in Raleigh again.

4 months agoFirst time at the Alamo. The service was excellent. The food was ok. The seats didn’t recline enough for a tall person to be comfortable. Unfortunately, the seat my son was at the cup holder was dirty and unusable. All that and still loved the experience. Best way to watch a movie.
