a week agoAbsolute garbage, AMC is so ghetto. The owners of this location should be embarrassed… the discount theater by my house takes more pride in itself than this sham of a cineplex. I only go here if the movie I want to see is not playing absolutely anywhere else. I’d rather pay the tolls to go to Indiana than go to this AMC!! The workers are nice enough, but doing a double feature at literally any Cinemark location, then coming here, is sincerely jarring. Just the absolute worst theater in Louisville… which sucks, because I have heard that AMC is really nice in other states. Well not in Kentucky babe… not in Kentucky… I won’t elaborate more. This place is not for the faint of heart. AMC I HATE you, and will be watching more movies at home the next few months just to be able to go to you less. Added a star though because they usually have decent foreign selections. 1 star quality, 2 stars for selections of films.

2 weeks agoThe movie itself was just fine! The sound was good. Screen was good. Seats were fine. We arrived 20 minutes before the movie thinking it would be plenty of time to get all the pop corn and drinks and hit the potty. The bathrooms were disgusting. Holes in the walls. Poop on at least 2 toilet seats. There was only 1 concession stand open which wasn't a big deal considering there was only like 50 customers. But 6 or 7 of us waited by the bar for 5 plus minutes hoping someone would come serve us. No one came. And one thing I really can't get over in ANY theater is the price of the snacks. Even gas stations are cheaper. I'm sure they get a discount with buying bulk. But they charge $6 for a small bag of m&m's. They need to invest in some updates and a few extra employees when they have showings.

5 months agoUnderstaffed,, extremely dirty. Long wait in ticketing / concessions. Soda fountain area a major SAFETY issue, wet floor covered in ice overflow and soda. Extremely slippery. Germs and Bacteria pretty much expected by looks of zero management oversight, staffing, cleaning. Seats were somewhat comfortable though cup holders were stickey and gross. Note this was the 1pm showing and place was trashed and full of trash. Health department really needs to check this place out.

2 weeks agolet's be honest, it's in bottom tier in 1st run theaters in Louisville. haven't been kept up in years. everything is just getting old and clapped out. theaters aren't fine wine they don't get better with age. the only reason to go to Stony for a screen is that your a A-list member or it's the only showing there. the staff has always been pleasant to interact with but they are pretty much run the place with a skeleton crew. 3/5 stars

a week agoCame in last weekend to watch Minecraft with the kids. There were only 2 or 3 people working the front, so the line for concessions while not very long took forever to move. We tried ordering our snacks using their app with a pickup time but still ended up waiting 10 mins past the scheduled time. The sound in the theater was too loud. I felt like I needed earplugs for some parts, especially all the ads and previews before the movie. The floors of the theater were filthy, and our shoes stuck to the floor like someone spilled soda everywhere. Don't think we will be going back to this theater.
