Camp Salmen Nature Park

This park is great! We're from out of town and brought our kids here for a few hours. It's beautiful. Secluded with a large playground and benches everywhere (a parents dream). Lots of walking trails, and a large pavilion with lots of picnic tables. Definitely worth the visit!

Very beautiful and picturesque 130 acre park. Restrooms, covered picnic area, and playground for the little ones. Plenty of trails to walk.

It was a beautiful place. Boardwalk area at the beginning. Then on to the trails mostly grass via the wooded areas. But they have a black topped trail head thats accesible for wheel chair etc. The place is massive. Playground for kids and a party pavillion by playground. Some history is located on the property. Some beautiful scenery throughout the walk. Its about 5.1 miles wnere i was. I didnt finish the other part. The beauty was interrupted by 3 teen juveniles with a gun that they were firing into the tree line upon my approach down the Flatwoods cut through to grato area. Met park ranger, local police, and a lady from the office. Not what i wanted to deal with.

A great escape, even on a hot day, with lots of shady trails to explore. The terrain is pretty flat and not too difficult. Great play area for kids and plenty of space to have a gathering, especially in the big pavilion. Even the restroom was clean and functional.

I love this gem of a park. There are so many elements of Slidell History. The swamp trails are so peaceful and my go-to for my down time. We went for family pictures today. The biggest thing for me is the cleanliness. The wooden trail system is well maintained. The other trails are kept clean. Easy walks and beautiful views.
