a month agoI've been going to the Circle on and off for close to 3 decades. For years, we enjoyed quality contemporary theater in an intimate 3/4 surround stage. We used to be season ticket holders and enjoyed all kinds of shows. But, then it seemed every show came across as Anti-Christian. We finally stopped going. We returned after the pandemic, and they're one of those businesses that were very strict about wearing masks and being vaxxed (people can disagree, but most evidence shows masks and vaxxes hurt more people than Covid-19-I believe businesses have the right to set any policy they like, but I also believe in my right to be a client or not as well). We stopped going again but recently returned to the amazing production of "Ain't Misbehavin," where they turned the lobby into a Harlem revival club, which was creative and fun! Great talent! Looks like the old Circle might be back? We'll continue to pick and choose individual shows there for now and hope the programming remains unique and diverse. We'd love to return as season ticket holders (love to have shows to look forward to).

a year agoEvery production we see here is phenomenal, especially the most recent play, Artemisia. A staple of Sundance Square, we love to have dinner then see a show a Circle. They'll serve you a glass of wine then serve you amazing live theatre. Will not disappoint!

8 months agoNo parking - had to walk, alone, in the dark, after the show, 5 blocks to my car. Theatre is underground, so one must choose between an elevator somewhere not immediately visually obvious OR a flight of steps so steep that a fall will kill you (remember the film, "The Bad Seed"?) Once inside, the people are terribly nice, but you'll need booze after getting into the theatre. Thankfully, there are both a lovely bar AND clean restrooms. I have mixed feelings about the presentation I saw (billed as a punk rock "Tartuffe") but the keyboard player had an eagle eye, exquisite timing and skill, all necessary to save the show. Then I had to walk back to my car....

9 months agoEvery show I’ve seen at Circle has been beyond enjoyable and moving. I’ve been lucky to see almost every show this season and they truly never miss, but this past one was one of my all-time favorites! Tartuffe was the most fun I’ve had at a night at the theatre in I don’t know how long. The over-the-top physical comedy along with the witty dialogue kept me engaged the entire 90 minutes of the performance and it was easily one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen.

2 years agoKodachrome was an exceptional production. What a beautiful, moving story. Lauren LeBlanc was outstanding. The entire cast was strong. I’ve never seen a production use lighting and technology so well and seamlessly to help tell the story. This entire production is a work of art.
