About Dave & Buster's Cary

Dave & Buster's Cary offers an exceptional variety of arcade and virtual reality games that appeal to both kids and adults, alongside a high-quality prize counter. However, the venue suffers from highly inconsistent customer service, slow food delivery during busy hours, and billing discrepancies regarding promotions and coupons.

Best for: Families seeking a wide variety of modern arcade and VR gamesParents wanting to watch sports on big screens while kids playGamers looking for good value via weekday promotionsKids and teens who enjoy mini arcade games and virtual realityAdults looking for VR games, drinks, and watching sports on huge screens

Why families love it

  • Large and diverse selection of games, including highly praised virtual reality (VR) experiences
  • High-quality prize desk with a better variety of rewards than typical bowling alleys or Chuck E. Cheese
  • Convenient kiosks throughout the floor to easily check card balances and points
  • Great promotional deals, such as discounted coins on Wednesdays and $10/hour unlimited play specials
  • Virtual reality (VR) games
  • Huge screens casting sports events

Insider tips

  • Visit on Wednesdays to take advantage of discounted coins for games
  • Go between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM for a manageable crowd level before it gets busy and loud
  • Carefully review your bill at checkout to ensure coupons and Eat & Play promotions are correctly applied
  • If ordering the barbacoa quesadilla, expect a small, thin portion and consider ordering something larger if hungry

Good to know before you go

  • Visiting after 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM if you want to avoid loud, disruptive crowds and slow service
  • Leaving your debit card at the bar without monitoring your tab status
  • Inconsistent and unprofessional customer service, including staff closing tabs early and temporarily misplacing debit cards
  • Billing issues, such as failure to honor coupons, incorrect charges for items not received, and disputed promotion times
  • Slow food and drink service during peak hours
Crowds
Very manageable between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, but becomes highly crowded, loud, and disruptive after 6:00 PM/6:30 PM and on holidays.
Value
Good potential value through promotions like $10/hour unlimited play or Wednesday discounts, but customers should watch out for unapplied coupons, disputed Eat & Play combo hours, and unexpected charges.
Food
In-venue dining and bar service available, featuring items like barbacoa quesadillas and shared kegs, though service can be slow during busy periods.

"At this Dave and Buster's location, we always had a great time. When compared to some other places, the arcade offers a large selection of games, and the staff is great. To check the balance and points, they have several kiosks. Although there are occasionally malfunctioning equipment, the staff is excellent."

"It was our first time at Dave & Buster’s.. We went on black Friday as they had unlimited games for $10 an hour. It was awesome … seeing this mini arcade games.. Kids were excited and we extended our one hour to two hours .. and still kids wanted to stay there.. The virtual reality games are just awesome … it’s not only for kids even adults will enjoy so much… The food was good too, but the only thing was it was so crowded that was taking time for the service to come and help … They had huge screens and were casting sports so that’s another plus.. It’s a place a place to definitely to vis"

"Was a first time experience and definitely a last for this location. Mike and a rather pierced young lady working the prize counter were the only employees here who had any sort of customer service, everyone else had a lack luster attitude and acted like we were a bother. The bar was slightly dirty when we sat, pretty much every other seat looked sticky so it a was a choose your best situation for bar seating. The bartender, Chicago, was dry, not welcoming. We got a keg to share because we were told the kegs were $30, which we thought was a spectacular deal. It did end up being about 8 drinks"
