4 weeks agoMy first time at Desert Star. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but the shows are comedies based on musicals. The show itself was okay, I think if I understood the premise of Mama Mia maybe I would’ve liked it better. I would probably just prefer to go see an official play rather than a comedy, but a lot of people seemed to love it. The environment where you can order food while you’re watching is fun and unique. It is very crowed though- we were on the edge and were constantly having to scoot in so the servers could get around us. Fun idea to order food, but would’ve liked more room and comfier chair/seating arrangements. They also did a 30 minute random “jukebox jamboree” thing after the show. It made no sense and felt like a waste of time. Fun and family friendly, but not my personal favorite.

a month agoI've seen so many performances here at this point, and they're always such a laugh! This is a great place to go with your friends, family, or even a date! They do hilarious spoofs on popular movies and shows and have a full menu of food and drinks to choose from, along with having two themed alcoholic drinks for each show. I always brush up on whatever movie it may be beforehand so I can get all the jokes and references; they also throw in a lot of funny local jokes and interact with the audience. If you're looking for a fun night out, definitely check out their show schedule!

8 months agoIn all the years I have lived in Utah I’ve never been to this playhouse. It was a great experience. Service was great. Everyone was dressed in old western garb. The food and drinks were tasty. The play was very entertaining. I will definitely be back. I recommend at least visiting once for sure.

a year agoA must see! This is great for a date, celebrating an event and for travelers/tourists. The theme/decor was so cute and western styled. I especially loved the seating area which we sat at tables and were able to order food to our tables from there. Our waitress was very efficient and kind. We watched the Pirate play and it was hilarious a mix of jokes, live music, slight adult humor, dancing and singing. I would recommend that ages 12+ attend specifically the pirate play to fully understand and because of the mild adult theme. The food was absolutely delicious and I loved that it was brought out to us. The show was absolutely amazing and we all had a great time, but tickets ahead of time because they sell out.
