"Beautiful claret layered mountains holding cacti, brush, and trees. Hiking here is a perfect way to spend an afternoon--beautiful sunset views looking west towards Albuquerque. "Excellent area to take a break from the city. There is plenty of parking and picnic areas. The level of adventure you choose here is up to you. Some trails are moderate and others as they reach toward Sandia Peak become very steep, very quick. The views of the mountain and then the city are great!"
