2 months agoDuring my recent visit to the Frist Art Museum, housed in the beautifully restored historic post office in Downtown Nashville, I was treated to an inspiring fusion of regional student creativity and internationally renowned Impressionist works. The museum’s latest exhibitions showcased a thoughtful connection between art, agriculture, and Tennessee’s cultural landscape. One of the most compelling aspects of the visit was the student art exhibition, which highlighted the incredible talent emerging from our local schools. Equally captivating was the Farm to Table collection of Impressionist paintings by artists who had spent part of their lives creating in Tennessee. Seeing pieces by well-known masters, recontextualized through their experiences in this region, added a new depth to their work. Beyond the exhibitions, the Frist Art Museum itself remains a gem. The stunning Art Deco architecture of the former post office provides a unique setting that enhances the overall experience. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, adding to the museum’s reputation as one of Nashville’s premier cultural destinations. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a history lover, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend an afternoon, I highly recommend visiting the Frist.
Going Places
3 months agoI give 4 stars because to park was very busy and I end parking in other parking lot close by and cost me $54. Plus to get the tickets $20 just for 2 exhibitions. Was nice the Japan manga exhibit, more for the kids with interesting activities and the installations with the ironing tables. The shop is very expensive, even a simple sticker is like $10. The traffic area in downtown is ridiculous.

2 months agoWonderful exhibit weaving French Impressionism, French politics, and farming themes. The building itself is beautiful with Art Deco architecture. A nice way to spend an afternoon.

6 months agoWhat a wonderful gem of a place! The guides are so knowledgeable and excited to be there. The exhibits change and are always thought provoking giving us reason to go back often. The food is one of best I've experienced at a museum with a fun and different menu. Check out the photo of a tea pour over. Didn't expect the production but it was fun! Great place to wander with a date, your family or simply alone!
