3 weeks agoYou can’t go wrong when there’s a Frederick law Olmstead Park here… The designer of many beautiful parks in America… There was an 11° wind chill despite it being mid April when I was there - so not many folks were around, but it was beautiful nonetheless.

5 months agoBEWARE OF THEIVES!! My fiance and I parked in the lot off Powers Rd. At 3:30 pm and took a short stroll from the parking lot to the bridge over the canal so I could see the fall leaves. He had just picked me up from the airport and it was close. Within 10 minutes we returned to a broken rear window and all my things were stolen including suitcase and carry on bag. There were only a handful of cars parked there and we had only seen 2 runners and one bike rider so it seemed like a quiet safe place. Don't be fooled like us. I'm just glad we didn't get confronted by who ever robbed us. They attempted to use my cards within the hour. It took that long to make a report and the police don't even respond in person. There are also no security cameras. Beware!!

11 months agoBeautiful park, scenic, and easy to get to! Great spot for nature photos! I did not see restrooms in the section we were in. The roads and walkways are clean and easily navigated. Plenty of free open parking! I love the bridge going over the river, such a beautiful view of other bridges and as the water was fairly still there was a beautiful reflection of the sky on the surface of the water! The trees are blooming and it's just breathtaking! Enjoyed a walk to stretch my legs with my daughter before heading to the airport. #scenic #river #green #blooms #familytime #park #free #beautiful

a year agoGreat way to get one exercise for yourself or a dog. Everyone whom visits the area is always respectful and friendly. The area is patrolled by police as well as public safety officers. The trails a little beat up but that's ok, the sights this time of year can be breath taking.

a year agoPlay grouds: Nice play grounds for kids, but they are crowded. Parking: Free parking spots and you can park on the side of the road. Picnic area: 2 large shelters with a lot of seats. I believe you need to rent these before using. There are some benches in the open too, but they were busy too. Didn't see any grill. Restrooms: Near picnic areas. Trail: Nice long trail, but there were many bikers, and the traul was not wide enough, so we had to move aside for all bikers. The trail goes into the city area where UR buildings are and then goes back in. It's a nice place to walk and enjoy nature and the river. There are a lot of people kayaking, and we saw a beaver too.
