Insider tips
- Allow extra time for arrival, as signage to the venue is poor; be prepared to ask a parking lot guard for directions.
- Plan to spend plenty of time, as there are 'lots to see' and varied exhibitions/areas to explore.
- Be prepared for high prices and limited selection at concessions, consider bringing your own snacks and drinks if outside food is permitted (not explicitly stated).
- Expect opportunities to buy memorabilia and merchandise, which could be a consideration for holiday gift shopping or budget.
Good to know before you go
- Families on a strict budget for snacks and drinks, due to high concession prices.
- Visitors who easily get frustrated by unclear directions and signage when trying to find an entrance.
- Parents expecting a highly themed, fantastical, or overtly Christmassy aesthetic throughout the entire venue if the 'sporting venue' look persists.
- Younger children or toddlers if the Christmas event content follows the same educational, less interactive format of the reviewed general exhibitions, unless specific kid-friendly activities are advertised.
- Signage to the venue is poor, requiring visitors to guess or ask parking lot guards for directions to the correct entrance.
- Crowds
- The comment 'lots to see so plenty of time needed' suggests a substantial experience, but not necessarily a crowded one.
- Value
- The general sentiment indicates the exhibits are 'well worth the visit' and 'terrific,' suggesting good value for the content. However, this value is partially offset by the 'outrageous in price' concessions, which can add significant hidden costs to the overall experience. No specific entry fees were mentioned in the reviews.
- Food
- Food and drinks are 'available' on-site, but selection is 'limited' and prices are 'outrageous.'
- Accessibility
- The facility is noted for its 'excellent space' and 'conveniently located bathrooms,' which suggests good general accessibility.
- Safety
- No specific safety features (e.g., staff supervision of play areas, wristbands, first aid stations) were mentioned in the reviews.
What parents say
"We visited Pompeii: The Exhibition. We liked the exhibit itself as it was informative and immersive and the layout of the exhibit was good. I did not like the look of the center as a whole because it felt like a sporting venue to me. Overall it was nice to visit this exhibit."

"We did the Van Gogh exhibit, and it was terrific! Personnel were very nice and the facility is excellent in terms of space, temperature, conveniently located bathrooms, places to sit - now the concessions are limited and outrageous in price. It is Graceland after all. Parking was also straightforward and fairly close."
