Detailed Insights
Based on all available customer reviews, McFarland Community Center does not offer any identifiable unique value proposition for parents seeking a safe, clean, or professionally run family entertainment venue, especially for children's activities like Christmas events. The reviews consistently highlight severe and fundamental operational failures.
💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →A reviewer sarcastically suggests to 'bring a broom' if visiting, due to the dangerous amount of broken glass in the parking lots.
Things to Consider
- ⚠Extreme safety concerns: A worker was allegedly involved in a dangerous incident (driving over 50 mph in a residential area, pulling a gun, twerking, and lying to police) where a child was hit, and staff allegedly covered it up. Reviewers state the place is 'not safe for children' and 'MPD owns the place they will not protect your children'.
- ⚠Pervasive unprofessional staff behavior: Workers are reported to neglect duties, engage in personal cell phone conversations loudly during work, and exhibit degrading, prejudiced attitudes towards visitors. Specific individual 'Gloria Watkins' is accused of being a 'thief/Compulsive liar' and 'stingy'.
- ⚠Hazardous and unsanitary environment: The parking lots are described as having 'broken liquor bottles' and 'glass is out of control', posing a significant physical danger. The facility reportedly 'smells like feces and a mixture of urine'.
- ⚠Poor management and ethics: Management (specifically 'Gloria Watkins') is accused of being 'prejudiced towards certain people', charging 'really expensive' and 'ridiculous' rates for basic venue/chair rentals, and allegedly asking people to write fake positive reviews.
- ⚠Lack of protection: Despite alleged police department ownership, parents claim there is no protection for children.
Price & Value
Pricing for venue or chair rental is described as 'really expensive' and 'ridiculous' by a reviewer who claims facilities are rarely lent out. No specific pricing for Christmas events or general admission is mentioned.

2 years agoThe workers here covered up my daughter being hit by her friend driving over 50 miles per hour in a residential area, and when I comforted her she pulled a gun, threw finger signs, started twerking and called the police to lie about drawing her weapon. This place is not safe for children, even though MPD owns the place they will not protect your children. Here are photos of this worker exhibiting unprofessional behavior during a time of watching other’s children. Need I say more.

a year agoThis needs to be said, if you cannot conduct yourself professionally. Just start your own business. Why would you pick up the phone, only to still have a conversation on your cell phone; clearly you don’t mind people hearing you busy and no tend to duties in your job description. Make it make sense.

2 years agoThis is a great space, however the broken liquor bottles are dangerous. It's not an issue to drink, but people you can't take it with you? Or perhaps in one of the trash receptacles provided at the park. When you all visit bring a broom because the glass is out of control in the parking lots. I called the community center and will call back tommrow. Let's take care of what We have!!

7 years agoThis place is horrible it smells like feces and a mixture of urine at the same time. The people there are fake missionaries and even more fake pastors. Please I beg of you do not come here. Also Gloria Watkins is a stingy little crab she does not lend out any part of the community center to people in need of a venue or even something as simple as chairs. When they do the prices are really expensive and the rates are ridiculous. She is prejudiced towards certain people and everyone there (workers) are degrading towards others please don't go here or even consider it. Do not believe the reviews either they are all lies.

8 years agoGloria Watkins is a thief/Compulsive liar. She might fool you with her religious ways. But she is just acting. Once again don't believe the reviews. She asked people to write a good review on this poor of an excuse of a community center.
