Good experience with our guides and perfect day to be out! We had thr 2:30 PM times lot in december. We were lucky enough to see tons of leopard sharks and a sea turtle. Our guides were funny and up beat. It was a nice cave experience too. We were at low tide and could only get to the pillar but it was fun non the less. My advice is that you will get wet! Bring an extra set of warm clothes for your car and leave anything you don't want to get wet. The only downside was how the company was not upfront that you'd have to pay for a locker $8 and a $$ Wetsuit. We opted out of both and did not need them. Nor was there and email about how wet you'd get or suggest this or that. We paid about 78 for a tandem. The yellow seats were really uncomfortable. My partner didn't mind but I did. Overall it was worth it!

Growing up in LA, went to San Diego so many times, even as an adult and never did the La Jolla Caves sea kayak until now. It is so worth it if you like sea kayaking and want a different view of San Diego. First of all, they provide everything, even a wet suit if you need it. I recommend coming with water shoes but you can wear your own waterproof athleisure wear. Waterproof is not necessary but bring a change of clothes and a towel. The guides are knowleable. Just pay attention and follow their instructions. Even if you are a couple or a group, we did single kayak. More manageable...the tandem kayaks seem to always crash into other kayaks and less manageable even with "decent" teamwork. After kayaking, there are plenty of places to eat and drink in that strip of La Jolla on Avenida De La Playa.

Kayaking off the coast of La Jolla with for the cave tour was the highlight of our family trip! It was thrilling to experience the ocean surge inside a sea cave but this was WAY more than just a cave tour. It was a wonderful gift to sea lions, leopard sharks, and all kinds sea birds from the water. We absolutely loved learning about the local ecology, geology and history from our highly entertaining and incredibly capable guides, Chase and Marshall. Their knowledge of the area and recommendations shaped the rest of our trip. 100% worth it to go with these guides!

My husband and I did the sea cave kayak tour on a tandem kayak. Everyone was super friendly! You are supposed to arrive 45 minutes early. We barely made it there at our scheduled time because parking is absolutely terrible. The staff was super kind about it and we got going right away. We had two tour guides for our group, Chance and Dax. They were both wonderful, outgoing, and helpful. I am 7 months pregnant and have not been super active, so I was a little worried about if I'd be able to handle being out in the kayak on the ocean for that long. Everything went super smoothly. We were able to see tope sharks, leopard sharks, many sea lions, garibaldi, pelicans, and other birds. We also got to get up close with the caves which was super neat! We went at the 10:20 am time, and the weather was perfect, not too hot or cold. I'd definitely recommend this company and this tour to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun way to explore the cove. Definitely get there as early as possible as the parking situation is a disaster!

My teen daughter and I did the tandem cave tour and absolutely loved it. John and Marlo were our guides and they were fun and knowledgeable. We had such a great time on the water and felt comfortable the whole time. We learned new things about the animals and the area. We are locals and would totally do this again! Highly recommend it!
