About Leaps N Bounders Gymnastics

Leaps N Bounders Gymnastics excels as a welcoming and fun environment for younger children (especially under 5) and for hosting full-service birthday parties. The staff are highly praised for their friendliness, responsiveness, and ability to comfort anxious children during their first classes. However, for children over 5-6 years old seeking structured, progressive gymnastics training, there are significant concerns regarding class quality, safety, and coaching.

Insider tips

  • Book birthday parties here, as staff manage the entire event.
  • If your child is nervous about starting, engage with staff; they are noted for their ability to comfort and encourage young children.
  • For children under 5, this gym appears to be a good option for initial exposure to gymnastics.
  • If your child is over 5 and you are seeking structured, skill-focused gymnastics training with certified coaches, thoroughly research class curriculums, teacher qualifications, and safety protocols before committing, or consider alternative gyms.

Good to know before you go

  • If your child is over 5-6 years old and you prioritize safe, structured, and progressive gymnastics skill development (e.g., learning a cartwheel over months).
  • If you are concerned about large class sizes and potential for less individual attention.
  • If you expect highly qualified, adult coaches for tumbling classes for older children.
  • Significant lack of structure and skill progression in gymnastics training for children over 5-6 years old.
  • Classes are reportedly 'way too big,' leading to insufficient individual attention.
Crowds
Tumbling classes for older children are described as 'way too big,' suggesting potential crowding during these specific class times.
Value
Classes cost $25 per session. For children over 5-6 seeking structured training, this price is considered high and poor value by one reviewer, who found alternatives for 'half the price' offering better structure and safety. The value proposition appears stronger for younger children or for comprehensive birthday party services.
Food
For birthday parties, staff 'serve,' implying food is handled by staff, either provided by the venue or parents with staff assistance. No general policy for classes mentioned.
Accessibility
No specific accommodations mentioned in reviews.
Safety
Significant safety concerns raised regarding teaching methods and unqualified (high school) instructors for older children's tumbling classes, particularly concerning lack of proper skill breakdown.

"A few years back I would have given leaps n bounders beyond 5 stars. But it just isn’t what it use to be. This place is still great for any child under 5 but beyond that they just don’t have the structure for actually training kids in gymnastics. My 6 year old has been attending since she was 2, and recently she was in a tumbling class here. Her teachers were high schools. The way they were “teaching” was scary and not safe and the classes are way too big. For $25 a class I would expect much more structure and skill. She didn’t even learn how to do a cart wheel while being in the class for"
