Expert Summary

Detailed Insights

Legacy Gymnastics provides a strong environment for children seeking recreational and competitive gymnastics, featuring knowledgeable and safety-conscious coaches, high-quality equipment, and a comfortable, air-conditioned facility with a parent viewing area. However, potential visitors should be aware of significant administrative and communication issues, including unhelpful front desk staff, a rigid no-refund policy (especially problematic for their summer camp, which parents report no longer includes gymnastics), and inconsistent cleanliness in certain common areas.

Key Highlights

  • Coaching staff is knowledgeable and has safety in mind, described as sweet and funny.
  • Gym is equipped with 'best equipment' for gymnastics.
  • Facility features good air conditioning, making it comfortable even in summer.
  • A parent viewing area is available to watch classes.
  • Some teachers are noted as nice, contributing to a positive experience in class.

Standout Features

  • Knowledgeable and safety-focused coaching staff.
  • High-quality gymnastics equipment.
  • Effective air conditioning for a comfortable environment.
  • Dedicated viewing area for parents.
  • Potential for new adult classes in the future.

Perfect For

Children: Excellent for recreational and competitive gymnastics (general age range).
Adults: Upcoming adult classes are planned (future offering).

Ideal For

Children actively seeking structured recreational or competitive gymnastics training.
Parents prioritizing knowledgeable coaches with a focus on safety.
Families who value modern gymnastics equipment and a comfortable, air-conditioned indoor environment.
Parents who appreciate having a dedicated area to observe their child's classes.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • **Always confirm policies directly with reception in writing, especially for makeup credits, scheduling, and refund rules, to avoid miscommunication and disappointment.**
  • **If considering summer camp, explicitly verify the exact curriculum and the amount of actual gymnastics/tumbling offered before signing up; do not assume based on the facility's name.**
  • Be prepared for potentially unhelpful or rigid responses from front desk and management staff regarding administrative issues.
  • For children's classes, be proactive in checking multiple communication channels (e.g., website, emails, notes home) for schedule changes.
  • If cleanliness is a high priority, consider visiting during quieter times or inspecting specific common areas, as issues have been reported.

Things to Consider

  • Frequent and severe miscommunication issues, including unreceived schedule change emails (despite receiving promotional ones) and misinformation regarding makeup lesson credits (e.g., not usable for higher levels as advised by instructors), leading to wasted benefits and scheduling conflicts.
  • Reception and management staff are described as rude, 'matter-of-fact,' and unhelpful, consistently stating 'there's nothing she can do' for issues.
  • The summer camp program has been radically changed from previous years; it no longer includes actual gymnastics or tumbling, functioning instead as a general 'day camp,' leading to significant disappointment and refusal of refunds.
  • Strict no-refund or no-prorate policy, even when services are not as advertised or for immediate dissatisfaction, as reported by multiple parents.
  • Inconsistent cleanliness: a room connected to the women's bathroom reportedly has food not in trash and clothes thrown about 'every week,' and gym mats/equipment 'could be cleaner,' particularly on Saturday mornings.
  • Lack of concern from counselors and management for injured children, including refusal of simple amenities like a popsicle for a child who sat out due to injury, and requiring a doctor's note for a witnessed injury.

Price & Value

The value is highly dependent on the program. For gymnastics classes, if the coaching and equipment meet expectations, it offers good value. However, the summer camp's value is extremely poor as parents paid for gymnastics but received a day camp with no gymnastics, and refunds were denied. Potential hidden costs include lost makeup credits due to communication issues.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations mentioned in reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • No explicit outside food policy mentioned, but food items left on the floor in a common area suggest it might not be strictly prohibited. Popsicles were offered by the facility during summer camp.

🚗Parking Info

  • Parking situation not mentioned in reviews.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Reviews mention going on 'Saturday mornings at 9' but do not provide specific details on crowd levels during this or other times.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Coaching staff is described as having 'safety in mind' during gymnastics instruction.
  • However, a significant safety concern was raised regarding counselors showing 'zero concern' for an injured child and management's handling of the situation.

When to Avoid

  • **Summer camp if your child expects or needs actual gymnastics or tumbling instruction, as it has been reported to be a general day camp.**
  • If you require flexible cancellation, refund, or credit policies, as the facility appears to be very strict.
  • If poor communication and potentially rude customer service at the front desk are deal-breakers for you.
  • If you expect consistent high levels of cleanliness in all common areas, particularly around bathrooms, on Saturday mornings.
  • If you expect empathetic and proactive responses from staff regarding minor child injuries without requiring formal documentation.

This is my first time writing a review ever, and I don't usually complain much. However, I’ve been so frustrated with their communication skills and bad manners. 1. I was suggested by the instructor in level 4 to use my daughter's makeup lesson credit towards the next term. When I inquired the lady at the reception about using it in level 5, she told me that there was no such thing at level 5 and up. I could have used it in level 4. How wasteful! 2. They changed the schedule for the next term about 2month ago, but I didn't get an email. I was told it might have gone into my junk, but hey, guess what, I've been getting every transaction statement or promotion for the other classes!? Now my daughter has a schedule conflict. I wish they have tried multiple routes, for example by sending home a note with your child, uploading the info on their website, or sending out email more than once. 3. All this miscommunication was brought to my attention, I was more upset because of the mannerless encounter of the lady at the reception. She said everything so matter-of-fact way and rude. The same lady told me that there’s nothing she can do. I hate this management.

We like this gym for convenience and our teachers have been nice. But I really wish it was cleaner. We go Saturday mornings at 9. The room connected to woman’s bathroom has food not in trash can and clothes thrown about every week and then sometimes I feel like gym mats/equipment could be cleaner.

Horrible summer experience. After 8 or more years of taking my children to summer gymnastics camp, we signed up thinking it would be like past years. We were wrong and discovered that they had completely done away with any gymnastics and it was nothing more than day camp. Refused to refund or prorate us after we wanted to quit the first day. Child got injured and sat out a few days while sibling did the camp, and even though we had paid and he was physically with me, they refused to give him a popsicle when they were giving all the kids one. Such a disappointing experience. Manager was borderline rude and whole experience was a let down. Do not send your kids thinking they will get gymnastics at the summer camp. They have cancelled all of the tumbling. Many excuses including that some parents had complained about their children doing gymnastics in years past…. AT A GYMNASTICS SUMMER CAMP. SIGH. Will not be back here. Edit: I see that the director responded. The counselors were aware my child was injured. He turned his ankle pretty badly and basically zero concern was shown by the counselors. It was up to me to pull him and thankfully, I was there. I should not need a doctor’s note when they witnessed it. Also, I have AT LEAST 8 other friends who had similar experiences this year. They also asked for refunds and were told no. You can say you advertised no gymnastics, but it’s a gymnastics facility and it’s misleading to those of us who sign up thinking that’s what we are getting. Guess that shows me not to ever assume anything. I’ll politely decline the free session and still plan to look for a new option next summer, but appreciate the polite response from the owner.

Gym is super clean and has the best equipment. Coaching staff is knowledgeable and has safety in mind. This is a great place to let your child do recreational and competitive gymnastics. Gym owners/operators are professional and great leaders. So happy to have discovered this gym!

Sorry about my user name it is because I don’t feel safe about exposing my name on the internet. Very great place been taking at legacy for a few year and has been great we are at a new place now and you learn so much. They are even going to have a few more classes for adults I think. And considering it is summer normally it is hot and stinky in the gym but this new one has a great acondirioner. They even have a great few if we are waiting on a class or someone you can watch. And the coaches are you sweet and funny glad I am taking here. I have been to other gyms that are horrible and ones that are great but this one is the best, So glad to be here. I will never regret going to this gym.
