"It was a nice HRBT or MMBT drive away from Newport News nice beach Island. We had went for the playground and ended up staying for the beach."

"This is the locals beach to stay away from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront madness. It can get crowded during the summer months but its not bad. Plenty of parking, place for kids to play, picnic shelters for large family events, fishing pier and a much cleaner beach. We usually like to come in the evening hours when its less crowded and to enjoy a walk on the beach."

"This is a great little beach park. There is a playground and several shelters as well as ample parking and water access on both ocean side and bay side. The beach is easy to reach with a short walk and wide enough to give you room to stretch. Parking is not free in season so pay attention to dates. Also there is no food on site so you will have to bring your own or go up the road for a bite to eat. The bathrooms are spacious and clean as well."
