a month agoBeautiful mostly sun exposed trail up the Wasatch mountains behind the University of Utah with a great view of the city. I’d recommend hiking one of the less populated and steeper paths directly up the mountain instead of the popular one that winds back and forth if you’re up for the challenge. Nice view at the top from the stone benches. No mud or snow for us yesterday although we did the direct route so there might be a little bit of moisture remaining if you follow the main path.

a month agoAmazing place to be. Just 10 min drive from downtown. Its about 1.5 hrs hike. The salt lake city looks amazing from the top. There are multiple trails to get to the top. Plenty street parking (3hrs limit).

4 weeks agoPick your route wisely. If you go to the right and go slowly up it'll be a lot easier compared to going to a small mountain. I, made the mistake of climbing up the small one on the left right at the front and it was a lot harder but quicker. Great view but takes a lot out of you to get to the top

8 months agoIt’s steep and a bit exposed but there scrub oak and flowers along the trail were more beautiful than expected! Overall I loved the experience. Note street parking is free and this trail can go all the way up to Mount Wire and Red Butte. Trails are not well marked and numerous alternative trails abound so use AllTrails to avoid getting loss please. Some places are steep and I needed a hiking stick.

8 months agoThe family made it about half way up and then we turned around but the view is quite beautiful without making it all the way to the top. We're not super fit and live at a lower altitude. It was a good hike for us.
