Very interesting place with a docent in each cabin to talk about a different subject, such as weaving, candle making or milling. There were about 85 kindergarten kids there at the same time, so we just jumped around to cabins that they weren't in. Would recommend for couples, families, a very fun way to learn a little history. We spent about 2 hours. Parking was plentiful but could fill up later or on busy days.

Such a peaceful way to spend a Saturday morning. I've lived in the Fort Worth area for over 30 years. My kids went here on field trips. But this was my first time and it won't be my last! I was especially impressed by how knowledgeable Chuck and Lisa were at the woodworking and blacksmith areas (respectively). But Lisa made the whole conversation personally welcoming. Honestly, from the greeting at the entrance to the good bye at the end, we had a great time.

Absolutely adorable and just a good simple thing to check out. The employees telling stories about the times was fun. Definitely should check out.

Fun and informative. For young and old. Many old cabins from the north Texas area. Furnished with original pieces. Cabins, schoolhouse, blacksmith, woodworking shop, mill, candlemaker, smokehouse. So you have the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker! Most will have a docent to give you the history. There's even a small gift shop that you can purchase items made there by the staff. An inexpensive outing for the whole family.
