a week agoI thoroughly enjoyed my visit here--I am from Va Beach and I am most familiar with the Norfolk Zoo, but I try to visit the zoo in every state I go to--so I've been to plenty: Houston, DC, Chicago, Central FL, Animal Kingdom, and two drive through safari. This is by far the best experience I have had in a while and the zoo is so interactive. You can feed all the animals (including the giraffe) and there are many other things to do as well such as: zip linging, the cable car that goes over the zoo exibits! The beautiful roaming animals and the animals in the exhibits look healthy and happy. My only complaint is that there were no elephants, maybe soon they will expand. Very family friendly, beautiful grounds, and friendly staff! Will definitely be back for a visit soon!

4 weeks agoWow!!! What an amazing zoo!!! I had only ever been to the one in DC and this zoo is hands down a thousand times better!! They are free range animals which is absolutely amazing! All of the animals were happy and playful which I've never seen at the zoo. They were well taken care of! There is so much to do and see!! And very reasonable prices!!! It was an amazing time with family I absolutely loved being able to feed the giraffes and I got to pet a kangaroo!! Please check this place out it's worth the money and time!!

The staff were incredibly friendly and added a welcoming touch to the experience. I was pleased to see that the animals appeared healthy and content, which speaks highly of the care provided. 3 weeks agoA Wildly Wonderful Day at the Metro Richmond Zoo! My recent visit to the Metro Richmond Zoo was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment I stepped through the entrance, I was immersed in a world of incredible wildlife. This zoo is a true gem, offering an amazing opportunity to get up close and personal with a diverse range of animals. Here's what made my experience so memorable: * Amazing Animal Encounters: * The sheer variety of animals is astounding! I was particularly thrilled by the opportunity to feed the giraffes, an experience I'll never forget. * It was great to see so many different types of animals, from primates to large mammals. * Interactive Experiences: * The zoo offers fantastic opportunities for interaction, which really enhances the visit. Being able to feed some of the animals made it a very personal experience. * Family-Friendly Atmosphere: * The zoo is perfect for families, with plenty to see and do for all ages. * The option of the safari train, is a great option for those who want to rest their feet. * A Place of continual improvement: * It's great to know that the zoo is always adding and upgrading it's facilities. While some online reviews express concerns about animal enclosure sizes, it's clear that the zoo provides unique opportunities to connect with wildlife. And from my own experience, I had a very positive experience. Overall, the Metro Richmond Zoo is a must-visit for any animal lover. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the memories I made will last a lifetime. I can't wait to return!" It's important to note that online reviews can vary, and it's always best to form your own opinion.

a month agoWe enjoyed our trip, it was a beautiful day! We loved the variety of animals and lots of new ones we got to see! The price is very reasonable for all that you can see and do there. Definitely buy your tickets online to avoid the wait! We would have liked to see more collectible items in the gift shop (more stickers, keychains, some shot glasses) and wish it was open later now that the days are getting longer. Towards the end of our visit, staff were driving around on golf carts pretty fast down the walking paths which seemed kind of dangerous, especially with kids around.
