I love this zoo. It has a large variety of animals for a smaller zoo. The zoo was also easy to navigate. I'm not sure what some reviews are talking about when they say the enclosures are small or the animals are malnourished. They seemed very healthy and happy to me. The staff were super friendly and the gift shop had a bunch of cute things to buy, most of which were inexpensive like stickers, small plushies and train whistles. I loved the bird enclosure since we could be in there with them. I also had the pleasure of seeing the unintentional mascot chipmunk which had found its way into the bird enclosure. He was adorable. I would definitely come here again.

Friendly staff, and off the beaten path. The best thing here is it’s great for just a quick trip. They have a decent amount of animals my kids had never seen at other zoos.

Very friendly staff with a variety of animals, despite the smallness of the zoo. We bought our tickets in advance on the website so it was quick to enter. I recommend seeing the snow leopard and the pallas cat, both are quite cute. Bear was hibernating as it is winter right now, so we didn't see them. It was quite chilly this day, and started snowing as we made our way through, so some of the animals were in their homes but overall we saw quite a bit. It was a pleasure to see the unintentional mascot, the chipmunk. I will absolutely come back here someday, especially in the spring or fall. Some of the other reviews I've seen complain about the size of the enclosures but they seemed adequate to me.

Love mill mountain zoo. Small compared to other zoos but neat. Variety of animals, birds and reptiles. I participated like the bird aviary. But love the black bear, snow leopard, red panda, bold eagles, porcupine, otters, military macaw. Two small playground there too. And a Cafe. It's just a neat local zoo to take kids to. Or for the young at heart to go too. And zoo choo was running day we went! Yah! There's a neat woodsy walking path to the entrance to zoo with like ponds etc or there is a paved walkway too for someone who was handicapped or use like walker or scooter to get around ad alot of zoo has paved paths to make it accessible for everyone. Young or old.

We came to mill mountain I think expecting a little more. First, they charged us $10 for our two year old after the sign says 3-11 is $10, next price was adults for $12. The food was $3.00 (not bad). But they were able to work through it and gave us a refund for the 10 for our son. There was definitely a different variety of animals which was nice. We were excited for our son to ride the train but it was closed. There is about a 5-10 minute walk for parking to get to the zoo.
