2 years agoTldr: Engaging playground, shady seats, restrooms nearby: for toddlers to tweens, a great park. I usually go to Memorial Park, because it's substantially closer to me, especially with a 21 month old in a stroller. But occasionally, I want to walk further, mix things up, etc. In those cases, I go here. The Oak Tree Park playground is one of those that can support my 200 lb self as I loosely tail my toddler. The slides, ropes, and stairs all take me without complaint. The metal slide is my daughter's favorite, and we can ride it side by side. It's great, there aren't many metal slides anymore. The swings are able to support me, too. The swings seem to face into the sunset in the evening, which seems like an oversight, but it's not the end of the world to sit the other way around. As a father who is about to take on toilet training, I'm always looking for bathroom facilities near places I am. The bathroom is a little far away to accommodate an urgent request, but not inconvenient to "try". I love Oak Tree Park. My daughter gets excited by it, too - she loves the big flowers you can stand on and the bear staircase ("roar!" everytime she walks by). If you're looking for a place to have a picnic or mom-date or spend some time outside, this is a great place.

2 years agoGreat playground. I never knew it existed as it is a bit hidden. Deer Creek playground was closed so tried this. 3 kiddos aged 1, 3 & 5 all loved it. It is down a big hill a ways from the parking lot so make sure you bring what you need with you so you don't have to hike it several times.
