"Overpeck County Park has quickly become one of my favorite hangouts for bird and wildlife photography in Bergen County, New Jersey. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes when humans don't develop locations for housing and commercial, but instead to help reclaim nature. What was once a garbage dump (landfill) is now a thriving ecosystem for flora and fauna. One moment you can be flying a kite the next you're observing multiple bald eagles flying overhead. You can kayak and fish in the summer, you can jog or walk the many paved pathways, and you can even catch a concert in June through "

"One of my favorite public parks around the area I currently reside at. It’s great in size with many different activities you can do from walking, reading a book, kayaking, picnics, or just a lay low time with friends and family or even just yourself. There are many functions that happen at the park through out the year. Just an fyi you do not need a permit in order to kayak if you have one. There’s specific areas you can go to within the park to enjoy beautiful views. My favorite one is on the little bridge by the entrance after the first roundabout. The bride has two benches for you to relax "

"Huge spacious park, plenty of parking available. They're a ton of areas for picnicking and lounging. There's an area for fishing; There is an area for canoeing. They're soccer fields, playgrounds. Everything you could ask for in the park. Restrooms are available. Super long walking trail where you can walk around the entire park. And you can even have a great view of the Lake."
