10 months agoRented 2 Old town twister kayaks to enjoy a day on the Rio Grande. Pick up was very easy. Short bed truck & the owner helped us ratchet strap in. Also provided us with helpful information. Early July the water can get shallow at certain points, but we got lucky & enjoyed a wonderful day on the river. 3 hours on the river & Quiet Waters had their loading equipment where we decided to get out. Overall fantastic time. Easy to navigate. Very kind management. Looking forward to using them again in the future.

6 years agoWent on the kayak tour of the Balloon festival. It was everything I hoped for. A world class forever memory. The guides were kind, funny and informative. FYI the river gets low at this time of year. Even though I met the weight requirements, due to the low river my butt stuck more times than I'd like to admit. The guides were very helpful, but something to consider if you go at the end of the season and you are "huggable".

6 years agoYou can't beat Quiet Waters Paddling Adventures! Their equipment is in great condition, the staff and guides are exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, and the entire company committed to helping you have a safe and awesome experience! Note, if you get the guided tour, Quiet Waters generally provides a very nice light picnic about half way through the journey. For the picnic, we all pulled over to the side of the river, ate lunch, rehydrated, enjoyed nature, and talked before heading back out to finish the tour. Whether you're an experienced paddler or you're trying the sport out for the first time, Quiet Waters has you covered! What To Expect: -Arrive and check-in -Safety is always #1 and you are required to watch a U.S. Coast Guard safety video -Get outfitted with a lifejacket, emergency whistle, and paddles (the kayaks are already loaded onto a trailer by the excellent staff and guides) -You're driven to the river where the kayaks are offloaded -Receive riverside instruction with demonstrations by the guides -The guides will help you launch your kayaks to get you started -Simply follow instructions, respect the power of nature/the river, remember to implement your safety training, and most importantly, have a GREAT time!

9 months agoExcellent paddling adventure on the Rio Grande! Our guide was named Rio and he was knowledgeable, interesting, fun and really knew the river’s currents and potential hazards well which really helped myself and my family members feel safe. The scenery was beautiful and the mild to moderate currents along our way made the paddling adventure that much more fun! We had a Debbie Downer in our group whose behavior was unpleasant and inappropriate but our guide Rio remained hospitable, calm, helpful and pleasant as we continued our way down the Rio Grande and back to where we had parked our cars. Highly recommend this company for a paddling excursion down the Rio Grande…I will definitely do it again! Thank you Rio for keeping your cool and remaining calm and informative about the local wildlife and the river’s twists and turns that we encountered along our way despite the way Debbie Downer was behaving and speaking to you. You made our paddle down the Rio Grande that much more fun!
