5 months agoNice little slice of nature tucked into the heart of the city. There's trails to walk, nice views of the Buffalo River, and access to the shoreline. The fishing is pretty good too.Perch, catfish, bullhead, trout (seasonal..and if your lucky), sunfish, suckers, and freshwater drum.A spattering of bass and occasional silver bass or other lake fish.

2 years agoHeard the county put a new kayak launch in and I couldn't wait to check it out. The key to this city's revival IMO is better access to the water and investing in the waterfront. Well, unfortunately this "kayak launch" is a pretty big embarrassment. It's literally a dozen concrete steps down to a muddy river bank. I suppose I could have used it if I didn't care about losing a shoe or two. Too bad they apparently didn't consult anyone who knew about the river or launches before dropping so much taxpayer money on this monstrosity. This would have been perfectly usable if they just built a grassy bank down to the water. I drove over to the launch on Hamburg Street instead.

5 years agoVery cool but small park on the river that not many know about. Walking the trails gives you great views of the older days of Buffalo. Across the water is Concrete Central and there are two active railroad bridges very close by.
