a month agoI came here to check out camping gear and some good mountain boots. They had a decent selection but the price point was a bit high according to the computation. They are a co-op style store so memberships are really necessary for best service as I watched body language and watch their eyes when they talk with me. It does not have a very friendly feel but there were a lot of people shopping there so I guess this style works for them.

2 months agoBen in the ski/board shop is the BEST employee REI has ever hired worldwide. He just won the employee of the year at his Boise store because every single time we go into that store he is the most kind, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful person in the entire world. He makes you feel like you're the most important person in the store and delivers world class service with a smile.

a month agoI am sad to say as a member for nearly 50 years that REI is not the same company it once was - a company of integrity that took care of its customers and stood behind the products it carried, no matter the brand. When I recently tried to return a defective product on the restock stand, the store manager said they don't examine the products before restocking - "that is up to the customer" before purchasing; and sorry but no returns, referring me to the manufacturer. I was stunned.

4 months agoJust went in to buy a gift card for a family member. I have a 9 week old chihuahua that needs to be supervised 100% of the time. I was literally going to be in the store for 3 minutes, but Bruce told me I had to leave. Bruce needs to learn common sense.
