4 months agoNice little zoo and right in the middle of a really nice park with lots of activities. We went for the Holiday light show, but went the next day to explore with the animals around. It was a little cold, but they do have indoor exhibits you can either warm up or cool down in. A lot of the animals and enclosures were unavailable due to the cold temperatures, but there was plenty to see and do. Spent a good hour and a half just wandering. Definitely would recommend for the warmer months, especially with the surrounding park attractions available.

3 weeks agoWe loved taking our kids to the zoo! The only downside was not a lot of animals were out, but we went on a cloudy day in March… so I imagine that was why. We are looking forward to returning when it’s warmer! It was so fun to see the animals that were out. The zoo is walkable and we were allowed to bring our own lunch in a cooler, which is appreciated especially since our kids have food allergies. I will say, I checked out the nursing station near the elephants and it was quite dirty. There were diapers left on the counter and floor and there was only a very small chair in the corner for nursing. I ended up nursing my younger son outside on a bench using my cover (which was more than fine) but if you’re looking for more privacy, just be aware. Overall we had the best day at the zoo and can’t wait to come back!

a month agoMy daughter loves this zoo and we try to go as often as we can. The zoo and nearby park are both very walkable and very kid-friendly. The staff at the zoo are also friendly and very informative with several live shows for the zoo-goers to learn about birds of prey and other animals. If you have an opportunity to check out the Halloween Spectacular at the Zoo after sunset in October I would highly recommend it. The Spectacular is one of the most incredible displays of pumpkin art I have ever seen or heard of with literally thousands of professional and novice carvings illuminated along the trails to see. Some of the carvings are so intricate it is hard to comprehend that it was even possible to create.

3 months agoWe love everything about RW Zoo. Location, price, variety, size. The size is and setup are perfect whether you only want 1 hour or 4 hours. Some of the most exciting animals like the elephants, cheetahs, and giraffes are right up front. But in the back you'll find eagles, snow leopards, red pandas, moon bears and more. There's enough variety to pique the interest of any kid (or adult). Their food has also come A LONG WAY. The pizza at the stand by the elephants is restaurant quality. Bring your souvenir mug for discounts and grab churros for the road. The events year-round are class, too. We love love love the jack-o-lantern spectacular and we loved the dragons and mystical creatures exhibit. For kids, there's a whole tree house and play sections with different toys, a sandpit, a sort of make shift drum/marimba. Kids love it. There's a splash pad too for hot days. There's a free day once a month for Providence residents and lots of programs for discounts, so keep an eye out! Absolutely worth every penny. Can't wait for the penguins!
