2 weeks agoThis is a wonderful classic theater with old charm resignating throughout the building. It has spacious seating and a nice bar area for drinks and snacks. The only thing I would need to get accustomed to are all gender restrooms. But these are the times we live in... I would definitely attend other shows!

2 weeks agoI think this place qualifies as an addiction for me. I can't stop coming back! This venue presents funny, thoughtful, and well-authored shows. The actors here are talented and engaging. Their passion clearly shows ! The venue itself is well maintained and tickets are very affordable. I love the SF playhouse and intend to come here regularly for as long as I live in the Bay Area

a month ago⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an unforgettable experience at The Playhouse Theatre in San Francisco! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the intimate yet vibrant atmosphere, comfortable seating, and fantastic acoustics that made every moment of the performance feel immersive. The staff was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall charm of this wonderful venue. As for Exotic Deadly: Or the MSG Play, it was an absolute triumph! Keiko Green’s script is bold, hilarious, and deeply thought-provoking, blending humor with a sharp social critique on Asian American identity, cultural myths, and food taboos. The cast delivered outstanding performances, bringing both the comedy and the emotional depth of the story to life. The play’s inventive storytelling, dynamic staging, and sharp wit kept me engaged from start to finish. If you’re looking for a theatre that showcases innovative and powerful productions, The Playhouse Theatre is a must-visit. And if you have the chance to see Exotic Deadly: Or the MSG Play, don’t hesitate—it’s a rare gem that’s as entertaining as it is meaningful! Highly recommend!
