2 weeks agoOur granddaughter is a current member of this outstanding climbing gym, and recently competed here with other local kids. It was my first time attending, and what I witnessed that morning was such a joy to be around. The positive energy amongst the competitors, the incredible support they received from their coaches and parents was something to behold. I never felt concerned for their safety, as the coaches were so engaged and supportive. The confidence that I saw in our grandchild was memorable and I can't help but think that this will overflow in her normal life outside of this gym. What a wonderful experience to be part of. Many different walls and routes to choose for the different skill levels are apparent here. Lots of room, high ceilings, (obviously haha) and just a great vibe to hang out for awhile. Nice job Blok Climbing!

a month agoMy god, do I love (and miss) this gym. The Blok was the newest addition to the corporate climbing gym environment of DFW when Skylar and Vanessa opened this family gym at the end of 2022. From the beginning they treated their clients as if they were family and friends, making everyone feel welcome. The route setting is sandbagged as all hell but oh so worth it. At The Blok the grade hardly matters as much as how accomplished you feel when you manage to finish or progress on your project. The routes are incredibly technical and punishing. Most routes seem to be 70% slab and 30% strength. Body positioning is the make or break for a majority of the routes and strength is secondary. Though they do not have too much climbable real estate the routes don't feel claustrophobic or too close to others. Regularly, they shake up the route setting and add creative new routes. Rope swing, crack climbing, skateboard wheels as footholds, community route setting nights, etc. They have big wall, cave, slab, arrete, and corners. In addition, they have a small but solid workout area with a rowing machine, squat rack, barbells, bumper plates, dumbbells, and kettlebells. A full Kilterboard is also in its own area. For recovery, there's a cold plunge and sauna as well. Bathrooms are big, clean, and private. There's also ping pong, couches, beanbag chairs, and a TV to unwind or hang out between climbs. Overall, The Blok is a standout among its peers not just in DFW but among most of the gyms I've ever been to. Don't expect to walk in and flash everything even if you're a solid v8-v9 climber. It's a humbling gym full of brutal routes and I cannot recommend them enough.

5 months agoThis has been my go-to gym for quite some time, and it will continue to be because of how tight the community is. They host a lot of events and there’s so much to look forward to in the future. Always a good vibe coming in and the family that runs the place are some of the nicest people you’ll meet.

a month agoVery good option for kids and adults. The staff is very friendly and helpful to teach everyone. The place is clean, you have to try this option, it’s fun specially if it’s your first time doing climbing 😜

a month agoIt's a fantastic gym! The owners are so friendly and the climbers too are always super sweet! Wether beginner, intermediate, or experienced it seems like there's routes for everyone to challenge and conquer and I always find a fun puzzle to think through. It's also kid and family friendly! Such a great crowd and would highly recommend to anyone!
