a month agoA splendid place to visit! Parking is easy, the collection of birds is great, the plants are well labeled, and the overall value for admission is fantastic. This is a crowd pleaser that folks of all ages will enjoy. You can pop in for a quick (c. 1 hour) visit or take your time and spend the whole afternoon here. I highly recommended checking if you can time your visit to catch some of the daily shows and/or seasonal events. I've been to zoos across the United States and Europe and, let me tell you, this is a gem. It may be a small zoo, but they make the most of it and fill it with a good variety of birds. They seem well cared for too, and we got to see a good variety of birds behaviors during our visit (we came in the afternoon). As a botanist, I enjoyed their choices of plants (they have cannonball trees in their tropical house!). The signage for the birds is top quality: clear, consise, informative, and full of interesting facts that people of all education levels can enjoy. Our group was composed of a low-attention span kiddo, a cranky hard-to-impress teenager, my elderly asian grandmother, and my parents... and we all had a really great time! This is one of the best places to visit in Salt Lake City; definitely check it out!

3 months agoThis is a GEM 💎 in SLC. I recently visited the Tracy Aviary in Liberty Park, and it was such a wonderful experience. The variety of birds they have is incredible!! everything from colorful parrots to majestic eagles. I especially loved the interactive bird shows; they were not only fun but also really educational. The entire aviary is beautifully landscaped, and you can tell they care deeply about conservation. It’s a peaceful and inspiring place, perfect for families or anyone who just loves nature. I’ll definitely be going back! Highly recommend!!!!

3 weeks agoGetting to the parking lot can be a bit tricky because if you're at the park you have to leave the park, go around the block, and then re-enter the park to get to this parking lot. They have two bathrooms at the entrance and the wait can be pretty long. There are no shows happening right now because the aviary is trying to prevent the spread of avian flu - seems reasonable, but a discounted ticket would be appropriate since the aviary isn't able to provide one of the big reasons ppl come here. I would budget maybe an hour to see this place and walk around. It's not an all-day thing, but it's worth a look around. Also of note: the military discount only applies to the military member; not the spouse. Many places extend the military discount to the spouse, but this place does not. (It's very nice that they offer a military discount at all, but I'm just providing information for anyone who assumed the discount applied to the spouse.)

5 months agoThis is a wonderful place to enjoy both nature and wildlife. The variety of birds, from colorful birds to elegant pelicans, is amazing to see up close. The aviary is also filled with beautiful plants and tall trees, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment. I loved walking through the gardens, surrounded the sound of birds singing. The trees provided shade and made the whole place feel like a natural escape in the city. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy both the beauty of birds and the calm of nature.

4 months agoThis is a great place that me and wife take our kids all the time. Our son loves to see the birds and play on the play ground area. We especially love the Christmas lights in December. It’s not a big place, which is nice for us because we can stay in certain spots and not feel like we’re missing out on anything, “trying to get our moneys worth”.
