3 weeks agoIt was an amazing experience. Purchase tickets in advance online and skip all the lines at the gate. Very convenient. If you purchase the 10 dollar souvenir cup online as well it comes with free refills the entire day at any station ( several throughout the zoo ) if you purchase it at the zoo it DOES NOT include free refills. The zoo was very easy to navigate, I would suggest going early ( we arrived at 1 pm and almost all the animal friends were snoozing ) my research suggests they are more active early mornings. Train rides are 3 dollars per person and definitely worth the experience. The food is decently priced for the zoo 🧐 don't eat at the first place you see as they do have lots of cafeterias and other places to eat throughout the walk. You can Bring in coolers, strollers and such. There are lots of covered seating pavilions to leave your things at and walk the zoo. Keep in mind it's not reserved or protected. Just first come first serve covered tables. For the price and experience I would highly recommend it. Hope this post helps.

2 weeks agoI have come to Hogle Zoo since our children were young. We took the opportunity to take 2 of our grandsons to the zoo. They loved it! The zoo can be very educational. The facilities have been upgraded over the years and are well-maintained. The animal living spaces always look clean, and the animals look healthy and fed. The staff is always so pleasant

2 weeks agoTo me, Hogle Zoo is a place where wonder breathes through every corner. Nestled at the mouth of Emigration Canyon, it offers more than a glimpse into the wild... it invites connection. The carefully curated habitats, from majestic lions to playful seals, stir both awe and reverence. I feel the heartbeat of conservation here, a deep respect for life woven into each exhibit. It’s not just a zoo... it’s a sanctuary of learning, empathy, and childlike wonder. -Aubs

2 months agoI’ve gotten year passes every year since my kiddo was a toddler. I absolutely love this zoo! They provide innumerable learning opportunities throughout the zoo like during the bird show and animal feeding/enrichment experiences. Each exhibit is clearly marked, with details about the species as well as the individual animals themselves, describing their history and personality. It feels like they really respect and honor each animal in their care. While the zoo is wheelchair friendly, there is a lot of walking so we prepared for that. There are, however, ample seating options to take breaks throughout the experience in the zoo. The food options are excellent as well, with several cafes and stands throughout. Plus the drinking fountains and bathrooms can be easily found at each section of the zoo. If you’re bringing little ones during the summer, make sure you bring a towel and change of clothes so they can play in the splash pad. And don’t miss the elephant painting! She’s so amazing! Ps. To avoid the wait at the ticket counter, buy tickets online beforehand or just get a pass, they’ll usher you in without having to wait.

a month agoWe always try to see the zoo and the aquarium in every city we visit. This zoo did not disappoint. Every enclosure displayed the animals to great effect. It is very walkable and we saw everything in about 5 hrs. There is a darling train and the best carousel I've ever seen. Every animal is different and they are mostly able to be seen in real life in the zoo. Best animal--the polar bear! They are doing Zooluminate, which we did not get to see. It is fabric covered huge animals and plants that light up from the inside. Definitely worth the extra night visit.
