Detailed Insights

Treasure Cove Water Park is a pleasant, family-oriented indoor water park located within an established resort community (Westgate). It offers a more intimate and affordable water park experience compared to major theme parks, with a charming island/pirate theme. It's ideal for a relaxed few hours or a full day, especially for families with younger children, focusing on quality staff and core water attractions rather than high-thrill rides.

Key Highlights

  • Well-staffed with generally attentive, friendly, and patient lifeguards and service personnel.
  • Nice island/pirate theming, colorful and appealing.
  • Unlimited towels and free child life vests are provided.
  • Plenty of seating available throughout the park, with cabana rentals at competitive rates.
  • Offers good quality food, including surprisingly good options, and tropical/boozy adult drinks.
  • Ability to order from the resort's 'Drafts' restaurant for delivery to the water park.
  • Features a beautiful lake view.
  • Kids generally have a blast, especially with the water clubhouse, two slides (one calmer, one faster), and a tame wave pool.

Standout Features

  • Dedicated and watchful lifeguards who actively circulate and interact.
  • Free child life vests readily available.
  • Unlimited towel service.
  • Ample seating areas for guests.
  • Cabana rentals for day-long comfort.
  • Good quality food and beverage options, including boozy adult drinks.
  • Convenient food delivery service from 'Drafts' restaurant.

  • Water clubhouse for diverse play and a wave pool for all ages.
  • Beautiful lake views adding to the ambiance.

Perfect For

Younger Children (e.g., 2-8 years): Excellent fit, with the water clubhouse, tame wave pool, and free life vests.
School-age Children (e.g., 8-12 years): Well-suited with two slides (one longer/calmer, one faster) and other core attractions; likely to have a blast.
Adults: Can enjoy the lazy river (if kicking legs up), wave pool, good food, and tropical/boozy beverages.
Teens/Older Kids (e.g., 13+ years): Might find the limited number of 'big kid' slides and tame wave pool less engaging if seeking high-thrill, large-scale water park rides.

Ideal For

Families staying at Westgate Spa and Resort looking for on-site entertainment.
Families with younger children seeking a pleasant, less overwhelming water park experience.
Budget-conscious families looking for a more affordable water park option than major theme parks.
A relaxed activity for a few hours or a full day to escape the Florida heat.
Parents who appreciate good food and adult beverage options while their children play.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Set expectations: This is a resort water park, not on the scale of major theme park water parks like Disney or Universal.
  • Plan your visit for a few hours to a full day, especially with kids, but be aware of the smaller attraction count.
  • If you are staying at the Westgate resort, it is highly recommended as a must-visit activity.
  • Monitor crowd levels, or consider visiting during off-peak times to avoid overcrowding, which can negatively impact the experience due to limited resources like floats.
  • Be aware that lazy river floats may be scarce during busy periods.

Things to Consider

  • Limited number of floats available for the lazy river, which can be an issue during busy periods.
  • Only two slides for 'big kids,' which may lead to boredom for older children or teens seeking more variety/thrills.
  • Smaller size with only a few main attractions (four mentioned by one reviewer), potentially not enough for a full day for some.
  • The lazy river is described as a 'little shallow.'
  • The wave pool is considered 'a bit tame.'
  • Only one restroom was explicitly mentioned in one review, which could be an issue during crowded times.
  • Potential for inconsistent or rude bar service from specific staff members (one instance reported).
  • Crowd levels can significantly impact the experience, with an overcrowded park being 'never pleasant'.

Price & Value

Entry is $20 per person (as per one review). Cabana rentals are available at rates competitive with similar establishments. While one reviewer felt the entry price was 'a touch high,' most agree it is 'substantially cheaper' than larger competitors like Disney or Universal water parks, offering good value for its scope and amenities.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations for special needs were mentioned in the reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • On-site food options described as 'yummy' and 'surprisingly good,' including 'simple food items' and 'tropical beverages.'
  • Boozy adult drinks are available for purchase.
  • Guests can order food from the resort's 'Drafts' restaurant and have it delivered directly to the water park.

🚗Parking Info

  • Not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, but as part of an established resort community, it is assumed resort parking is available.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Can become crowded, and reviewers advise being mindful of potential crowd sizes as an 'overcrowded park is never pleasant.'
  • Limited lazy river floats are a specific indicator of crowd impact.

🛡️Safety Features

  • High staff presence, with 'many lifeguards' noted.
  • Lifeguards are described as 'watchful, friendly, patient,' and actively 'circulate freely and assertively interact as needed.'
  • Free child life vests are provided for safety.

When to Avoid

  • If you are expecting a large-scale water theme park with numerous high-thrill or intense rides.
  • During peak crowd times, as the park's smaller size and limited amenities (e.g., floats, single restroom) can become problematic.
  • If your primary goal is high-speed, intense water slides for older teens or thrill-seeking adults.
  • If you are highly sensitive to potentially inconsistent service from individual staff members at the bar area.

Love this water park for family fun! A great way to spend a sunny ☀️ Florida day. PROS: Fun attractions, Yummy food, boozy adult drinks, Unlimited towels, lots of seating, free child life vests, beautiful lake view, cabana rentals, many lifeguards. CONS: not enough floats for lazy river, only two slides for big kids, smaller size and only four attractions for all day fun, only one restroom

This is a pleasant, small, family-oriented water park nestled in the midst of an established resort community. The theming is quite nice and revolves around an island / pirate motif. It is colorful, well staffed, and offers enough diversion for a long afternoon of water-based fun. The pricing, in my humble opinion, is a touch high. However, monetizers gonna monetize. Adults will probably most enjoy the lazy river. I think it is a little shallow, but you'll still enjoy it if you kick your legs up. Kids really enjoy the two water slides. The Orange is longer, but calmer, and the blue one is faster. All children can probably enjoy the water clubhouse and everybody enjoys the wave pool, even if it is a bit tame. There is plenty of seating and an array of tropical beverages are available for purchase along with some simple food items that one may want to snack on. They also offer a number of Cabanas that are available for purchase for the whole day at rates tht are competitive with other establishments of the same variet (owners get the best deal, of course). I think that it's worth a visit of a few hours, but with kids, you might spend a whole day. Come in, pick your poison, and enjoy it for what it is. It is certainly not on the level of its larger competitors in the theme parks, but you'll get off substantially cheaper... It is also worth noting that the staff here are a cut above the norm. This includes those watching the attractions and those working the on-site bar and eatery. They deserve a lot of credit, and probably more pay than they draw. They are always watchful, friendly, and patient. The resort ensures that there are plenty of them and the lifeguards circulate freely and assertively interact as needed. I would add that I note my review is somewhat at odds with any number of people that gave low scores. First, when you come here, don't expect the Earth to move. It's not a Blizzard Beach and it's not intended to be. The price point is nowhere near it and it's plain that the vision was never so large scale (nor could it ever be). For my part, I found the staff to all be very pleasant, however, if they are overburdened, I could see that changing. I think my primary caveat here is that you need to watch for the size of the crowd within or think ahead about how busy they may become throughout the day. An overcrowded park is never pleasant and many of the attractions in this area thrive on volume, casting reason aside to some degree. This is a watery attraction. Florida heat is not merciful and it does drive people to such.

It definitely not going to compete with the Disney and Universal water parks, but for a resort to have a water park at all is pretty cool. My kids had a blast here. The food is surprisingly good and you can also order from Drafts and have it delivered to you. It was only $20 per person to get in. Woukd of liked it to be a little cheaper, but I really can't complain. If you are staying at Westgate you must visit Treasure Cove

I stayed at Westgate Spa and Resort for the week! The last two days my family visited Treasure Cove for some fun. The first day was great! Food and Service by Megan was outstanding. However, the second day the bartender, Johnny, was exteremly rude and very short. I sat at the bar to order a drink. And he told me to go stand in a line. It wasn’t many people so I just waited until he could come back and serve me. I then watched the line go down. Two other guest come up and sat at the bar and he waited on them. There was another group to the left of me and I asked them had they had to go stand in a line to order and they laughed and said absolutely not. When I asked him why I had to, he explained it was his only working register. I asked why the other people were able to be served at their seats and he advised he wasn’t going to argue with me and walked away. I wasn’t arguing, I was very even toned and honestly just curious to his reasoning. I spoke with two supervisors that were quite young that advised the food/bev manager was gone for the day but they would talk with him. Not sure what that would do as they appeared to be much younger then him. The female did ask if there was anything she could do to make it right, but I wasn’t looking for anything free! I just wanted Johnny to know he can’t treat people like that and you never know who you’re serving! The fact, I was a previous bartender for 15-20 years I always tip well… 30-50% depending on how good the drinks and service is. I’m sure he’s good at his job but Johnny needs a lesson on how to treat all people equal! And to think I was contemplating becoming an owner at this property! I think not!
